The Points System

LFSCAR: SC will have a very unique points system, in which they be based of the NASCAR points system. Everyone who finished will get a certain amount of points. However, the points will be separated into two separate systems: The Driver's Points and the Owner's Points. The Driver's Points is just a tally of all the points the driver has earned. Pretty self-explanatory. However, the Owner's Points system will be tally up the points of the registered car. Let me give you an example:
If John Doe registered under the team Alpha Motorsports with the car numbered 00. John and this car will score the same number of points and lets say he wins the first race. But lets say that John is busy and can't race on race two and Michael Johnson replaces him and Michael finishes second. The points would look accordingly:

Driver's points:
1. Doe - 100 pts
2. Johnson - 95 pts

Owner's points:
Alpha Motorsports: 195 pts
- #00: 195 pts

Now let me broaden this a bit. When the entire season is finished. There will be a team champion along with a driver champion. The team champion will be based on the Owner's points in standings. So as an example:

Driver's points:
1. Doe - 100 pts
2. Pierre - 80 pts
3. Janic - 75 pts
4. Johnson - 50 pts

Imagining that Pierre and Janic is registered under Beta Motorsports, the resulting Owner's points would appear:

Owner's points:
1. Beta Motorsports: 155 pts
- Pierre - 80 pts
- Janic - 75 pts
2. Alpha Motorsports: 150 pts
- Doe - 100 pts
- Johnson - 50 pts

Bonus points would also be given under the categories: Lead the most laps, Lead a lap, and Highest Climber (progressive). You are only allowed a total of three cars per team.

But you can switch points scoring cars. So for example, in HR if Martelle the #09 wants to score points instead of Nightfly the #07, then the next race martelle will score points instead of nightfly and that'll be the case until the next notification to switch (if there will be one at all). Of course all the member of the team has to agree to the switch in order for it to take place. (Any complaints or objections to a car switch will be filed through a PM to me)

9. 2 pts
10. 1 pts

Finishing on the lead lap + 2 pts (you dont loose points for not finishing on the lead lap). Note, only 10 positions will be fulled. If there's a tie then both competitors will earn the same points.

Qualifying in the top 5 will score 2 pts, getting the pole will score 4 pts

If there's a tie anywhere in the tally, the person who finished better in the results will gain that position. If the end points standings have a tie then the position will go to the person (or team) with the most wins or better average finish.

Because of the size of the field autoX layout races will not include the climber points
The points system is now updated.

Post any comments or concerns here (please read thoroughly we have a fairly complicated points system).
How many points for most laps led?
I deleted the team switch paragraph and made it more clear by using HR as an example
