Should competition caution be implemented? Here's the system:
During the midway of the race a caution would be thrown. If a competition caution is thrown then all the cars would have to make the pit stop during that caution (just like a regular NASCAR pitstop). All lead lap cars pit first then all lapped down cars pit after.
The purpose of this system is to:
1. Bring the field together if there has not been a caution yet.
2. Give lapped down/struggling cars a chance to breath and recuperate.
3. Finally and most importantly, provide the jam packed pit road race that you always see in stock car racing (by forcing everyone to come to pit road).
If implemented, the competition caution would not be thrown:
1. If there has been more than three cautions before the CC period.
2. If there's a caution 5 laps before the CC is suppose to fly, then that caution would be considered the CC.
3. On Short Tracks (autoX ovals)
Since pit crew speeds dont really vary, I wonder if there's a point to this (since the CC is mainly for pit road competition).
What do you guys think?
