Whats the licence system around the countries? Some places sound different then Australia.
Here we start off with:
Learner Licence (L's) which you can get at the age of 16 and need for atleast 12months. Must have a full licence front seat passenger to teach you, illegal to drive without one. Have to fill out a log book that needs times, dates, number plates, licence numbers, odometer readings, how many hours done. When i got my L's, only needed to do 50hours. Now its 120 hours with 20 hours have to be night time.
Provisional Licence (RED) (Red P's) which you can drive alone and can get minimum age of 17. After 11pm til 5am, can only have 1 passenger under the age of 21. Need for i think also 12 months or i think 18 if you have had any offence.
Provisional Licence (GREEN) (Green P's) which is the next licence up. Same as Red P's but you can have any amount of passengers that the car can fit. Need for 18 or 24months roughly.
Full Licence (BLACK) (Blacks) which is a full licence that you get after your Green P's. On them for afew years. Licence doesnt expire.
Full Licence (GOLD) (Golds) which is the same as blacks but just 1 up.
Your Learner and Provision licences all expire roughly 6months after you can upgrade, each has a test ofcourse, but your only DRIVING test is going from Learners to Red P's. After that, its all computer tests.
Im on my red P's now and can go for Green P's roughly January next year. My licence is currently suspended!
