Onboard cameras solutions
Next month on the 2nd of July I'll be heading once again to Spa Francorchamps for a full track day organized by Marc Duez!

However the last time I went there 1 month ago, left me with no particularly good souvenirs, although there was much action...

So I'm interested in onboard cameras solutions you guys might use or think about. The cheaper the possible the better of course. Not looking for the best quality, but strapping my mobile phone to my helmet is not an option .
Couple of webcams taped to the car with laptop on the back seat? Depends what kind of car it is I suppose.

Webcams will be useless. Tristan has some sort of very small streamlined thing that he posted the details of somewhere on Reynard883.com

Alternatively any normal hand held camera should be fine for a track day, there are lots of camera mounting solutions avaliable, mostly rollbar mounts.

If you don't have a camera or want to spend on one some track days have companies offering a camera rental service who will fit a camera (or cameras) for you and will put it on DVD for you. You should be able to find out what services will be avaliable if you phone ahead to the track day organiser.

Quote from TiJay :I'd probably get this:

or one of those cheap SD videocamera things.

This is the closest to what I've been looking for but 150 quid will cost me more than the whole track day!

What I have for now is a last-gen compact picture camera that takes pretty nice videos but still looking for a solution to mount it properly.

ducttape ftw
Actioncamera sell a small, cheap, SD based camera that records at 30fps. Certainly not great quality, but okay for the small amount of money you could probably get one for. Over a year ago they were about £100, but probably a bit less now.

I got mine from Firebox.com.

Best way to attach it is via copious amounts of self adhesive velcro - some hooks on the car, some fluff wrapped round the camera, and another strip of fluff over the top - it won't come off (unless you want it to).

My system was quite a bit more expensive.

DogCamSport are pretty good. Mark is great to deal with, and will know of something towards your budget.
