Formula500 F504 FBM Formula BMW Information
The Formula BMW Series is considered to be the starting step into a life of Single Seater Racing, it is considered the sole entry point and so why not make it the same here. Drivers in the Formula500 Formula BMW series are expected to be new to Single Seaters. This is were Drivers learn the knowledge that they be expected to know when they reach the higher Formula.
The Formula500 F504 FBM Formula BMW series uses the FBM which is an exact replica of the actual Formula BMW car used in real life. The F04 Series is based off the UK Series of Formula BMW, which is now not actually in operation after 2007, however, we will follow that format.
Following below are some of the general details of this particular series within Formula500:
Sessions
Over the course of the Race Weekend, as in real live, we hold several different sessions. These sessions run to a series of regulations which are detailed as in real life within the Regulations Section of the website. These sessions are Practice, Qualifying and the Race.
1x 20 Minute Open Practice Session
2x 10 Minute Qualifying Sessions (one takes place before each race)
The Qualifying Session within Formula BMW is a straight fastest-lap session, with all cars out on the track trying to set the fastest time. The fastest time set in this session will place the driver in Pole Position for the Start of Race One. The Race Two starting grid is set by running a second Qualifying Session before the start of Race Two, this will also be a straight fastest-lap session.
Race One: 60 KM
Race Two: 60 KM
Championship Points & Titles
Top 8 F504 finishers in Race One score points: 10, 8, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
There are 5 Rounds with Two Races at each.
There is One Constructors Championship
There is One Drivers Championship
Basic Summary of Rules
Drivers must finish 80% of the Race to be considered for classifcation
Teams can run up to Two Drivers per Season (2 Race Drivers)
Drive-Through and Stop-Go Penalties are applied in session
10 Place Drop Penalties are applied for Qualifying Infringements
Drivers can be under investigation throughout Race Weekend & Sessions
25 Second Time Penalty can be applied (if within last 5 laps of race)
