Damn, BMWs are slow.

All out now.
Trulli loses it

Toyota should be called "The masters of donuts" lol they seem to spin out at least once every GP
Hamilton had an off as well.

The final run is about to commence. I'm guessing Alonso will pull something out of thin air... or petrol fumes.
Its all or nothing for Hamilton on his last flying lap... 3rd and a 10 place drop, 13th then

Looks like Ferrari have this all wrapped up

Who's up for doing a tribal rain dance!?
Check that powersliding on the last turn.. Alonso :wow:
Kimi, 1st, Massa 2nd, Alonso 3RD! Hamilton 13th. Heiki 6th. hmm no bad i guess, should be good race tomorrow
Hamilton third fastest, which means P13 tomorrow. Kovi is on P6. Almost certainly running heavy, as will the BMWs, and probably the RBRs. Alonso is definitely pitting early, IMHO.

Nice qually. If it rains tomorrow, there will be bedlam on the race track! Here's hoping for another good GP.
I'm bit disappointed with Massa, and Kimi did a lap less, so more fuel for him tomorrow on start...
But Alonso is a positive side, and as I can hear there are going to be thunderstorms tomorrow
Alonso has been pushing it hard, and as I said earlier, it's great to watch
Yay, Kimi on pole and Hamilton 13th. I'm glad.

Heikki's struggling. Said in interview minute ago that he didn't do any mistakes, the times were just bad every time he crossed the line. So he doesn't even know what's going wrong
Quote from thisnameistaken :There's always talk of strategies like that whenever a championship contender has a bad grid spot, but it never happens. Even Schumacher didn't get service like that.

dont you remember irvine being fuelled very light, if i remember right, at suzuka.....getting in the lead, holding the others up then "swapping" places with schum...........'97 if my memory serves me right.
McLarens now 10th and 13th... (d'oh)
Wow, Sutil is able to once again keep his streak of not starting last alive. I have a feeling this will be the most boring race of the season.

i fear you are right
I feel the french GP that track is more of a drivers course, i find it quite fun to drive on in games, but spector value its very MEH
idd. its a very fun track to drive, but very hard to pass nowadays.

Consider this: coming into the adelaide hairpin you cant really get a good exit out of the previous turn, cause its the estoril bend - a looooooong, sweeping, long, fast and long righthander that has cars simply understeer off the track if they are less than 100meters away from the one in front... No way to slipstream in that straight unless the car in front makes a really sloppy exit.
After adelaide hairpin, its the flat out nurbrugring chicane (no line for 2 cars there) and the looong 180º lefthander. If someone manages to do the chicane slightly better than the one in front, a passing opportunity might rise, but its mainly up to the car in front to miss the braking than any special move from the one behind.

Then the superfast imola chicane - again no way to overtake, and the slisptream prevents anyone getting too cclose there, effectivly preventing underbraking attempts in the next righthander.
We will see those attempts, though, cause with a heavy car its easy to exit the chicane wrong, AND if you exit the chicane too FAST, you go wide - straight into the inside of the corner. This little piece of tarmac is very nicely designed for overtaking - if you can weather the dirty air, you put the foot down in the second half of the chicane, exit fast and wide, and are positioned perfectly for a dive down the inside.

Then its the last overtaking position is the last bend before the kerbchicane - classic place, just go down the inside and hope your not overtaking David Crashhard.

Thing is, we will see overtaking in the imola chicane complex, then the overtaken car will try to regain (and prolly will) in the next bend, due to exiting better.

It IS a blast to drive, though - my fave circuit, right after Estoril (but I'm biased)

dont get me wrong, but thats bloody funny. ive enjoyed watching old chinguard racing over the years, but now he is becoming the racing version of Monty Python's Black Knight.

"NONE SHALL PASS"
Is it bloody rainning in France??? buu uhh
Race is gonna start in less than an hour...

I really hope that it rains... but I still think barring any major mechanical failures or driver errors that itll be a Ferrari 1 - 2

I really hope Alonso can get on the podium his pace has been outstanding over this weekend and he will deserve it.

Whats everyone think?
hmmm, I have the ITV coverage on and they are stood in the pit lane and it's not raining...
