Thrustmaster RGT - Using wheel Axis levers to Shift gears?

I have a RGT and the down shifter switch has broken, under the shifter is a lever that is a axis for Brake, Clutch or Throttle..

Is there any way i can use this axis lever as a gear shifter, assigning the axis to the gear change. I cannot find a way in the game to do this or in the controller software..

Maybe Joy2Key can do the trick so the system will read axis movements as a press of a button you can assign ingame after?

Hmm, downloaded and ran it but cannot find anyway it can read inputs from the wheel. See's only mouse and keyboard..?
