If it were me i'd get 2x Seagate 500 GB HDD's and put them in RAID0 (twice the speed almost and makes it appear as one biiiiiig drive) if my board had RAID - if not i'd get the single Samsung 1TB drive.
Does the P5K actually have Raid because didn't you say that it didn't?
If it doesn't could you recommend me a similar board but with raid?

P5K has RAID, but its useless.

The P5K-E is the P5K with RAID (and WiFi and a better PCB and a better layout), however if you don't need WiFi and wont be overclocking then the Gigabyte P35-DS3R is ok.
I will go with the P5K-E because I will need WiFi al though I will proberly use my current adapter as I use Wireless N not B&G. I will proberly overclock once I have learnt what changes, change what etc...
What will I have to go into, to see what chip my motherboard is, so then I know what processor I can put in it if I do decide to update it? I proberly wont update the computer I will build one just curious what chipset my motherboard is. Have to go into device manager wouldn't I?

I would use CPU-Z but I wouldn't hold out any hope of the board being good.

I'm not holding any hopes of it being good with how old it is.
What is better out of the 9800GX2 and the ATI 48xx series cards.
While the 9800GX2 is better (at least from all benchmarks I've seen) in theory, it's a sucker for power, has a jet engine of a fan, and will cripple your budget. The 48xx series seem to be about the same as the 9800GTX, maybe a little better. If you can afford the GX2 (and have a 7 million watt PSU :razz, definitely go for it, but IMO the 48xx are better bang for the buck
ok cheers.
The Radeon 4870 is definitely worth it, I have it and it's awesome.

Does it get hot at all when asking a lot from the card? I don't want a card that burns out pretty quick, well no-one does for that matter,do they lol.

It does get hot, but it's been designed to run that hot so it's fine.

Ok cheers, would it be best to get a cooling fan for it even though it has one stock? Just wondering because if you look at the picture where someone asked for a pic of the case you can see that where the computer is doesn't have very good ventalation?
this is where silent pipe might be the best option for the. although they do like to run hot too. you could get yourself a tumble drier exhaust hose and use that to channel the hot air from the pc. just an idea.

That would look ridiculous lol. Maybe it would best to invest into a water cooling system.
Water cooling? For a 4870? LOL!

Exhaust hoses aren't uncommon, I'm sure there's ones designed for the job, rather than tumble drier hoses though...(I heard the cardboard off of bog roll does the job ) 6" Wavin FTW?

What's wrong with the stock fans? My PC is literally shoved into a corner, and it has never had heat troubles, and it has a crappy DELL cooling!!! It even still has the original green plastic yoke that takes air from the CPU heatsink to the one fan it has, which actually causes more trouble than it's worth...

Basically, you don't need water cooling for a system like that. Until it becomes more affordable, and safer, it's solely for super computers and bragging rights for super geeks, IMO...

...or for ultra 1337 overclockers...
That too...but he doesn't seem like the uber-1337 overclocking type
I don't mean water cooling just for the GPU. Where the PC tower is in the desktop isn't very cool, I would use the water cooling system for the whole of the PC, I would be overclocking the PC once I have read up on it, to see what to change and on how much to change the settings to get the best performance out of my pc.
Guys w/ the 4850 and 4870, it can run at those temps, but you can have them running at about half the heat w/ the fanspeed fix. I set my fanspeed to 50%, and now my gpu idles @48 degrees Celsius. i think load is around 59, can't remember. Also, i have my 4850 overclocked by about 9%.
Make a profile in the CCC. then open the file and edit the xml :
C:\Users\""username""\AppData\Local\ATI\ACE\""prof ilename"".xml <Property name=""FanSpeedAlgorithm"" value=""Manual"" /> This will originally say ""automatic"" change to manual. - <Feature name=""FanSpeedPercentTarget_0""> <Property name=""Want"" value=""45"" />
What bit Vista OS version do you reckon this PC will be using?
Jakg maybe you could help me out here as you work for PC World and as they sell the computer would you be able to find it in store and have a look for me?
You know that you can buy XPS from Dell at half the price? They come monitor-less, but you could easily spend the difference on a decent one. I was looking at one the exact same spec as that one, for €920 (~£720). And I'm sure they're cheaper on the Dell UK site too...

I'm fairly sure PC World wouldn't have them in-store either, they likely just drop-ship for Dell...Never seen one in an Irish PC World anyway

They have them in-store, I was going through one the other day but never thought to see if the PC had the 32 bit or 64 bit version of Vista installed.
I would prefer one with the monitor as I am finding my current monitor to small now, might aswell get it in a bundle, I will spend about £40 on a pair of speakers and buy another stick of 1GB Ram to boost the pc upto 4GB of ram and might buy a Artic Freezer 7 Pro as the stock fan is proberly crap.

We have some Dells in-stock.

That one has Vista Home Premium just like it says in the specs...
