Registration of Server names
I think it is about time that the server names can be registered or at least locked to an IP address.

The amount of times that there have been fake LTC servers brought online is getting beyond a joke.

Yes yes, I know I should just let everybody know that it my server names are "blah blah blah", but that is not the point.

Isn't it about time that you allow us to say register "[LTC]%" to a certain IP address editable via lfsworld.

Don't come by and say "but people will register just '[' or something". There is a SIMPLE solution to that - moderate it! If you don't want to waste man power on that, just as a few of the reg's from the forum here, I'm sure they wont mind - I know I would not mind helping it out!

It has gone beyond a joke. It really has.

not because people borrowing the names of crooze servers bothers me, but because I think it's a great idea!
Ain't about Cruise servers. I never mentioned Cruise once. .

Seen it happen with CTRA a few times too.
Maybe charge (say) 3 pounds to register the first five characters of a server? Don't know how exactly it would work, maybe it would have to have manual activation in LFSWorld or ingame from the person who the name is registered to ...
It's a great idea, seeing too many fake servers these days.

Good suggestions to solve abuse, moderators can decide whether a registration application is worthy. It wouldn't be too hard really, to decide between registering nonsense like [ or [LTC], CTRA etc..
I'd like to see server names able to be reserved, kind of like the teams system. E-mail the devs with whatever name your server will be, your IP address, and then it's added to the list of reserved servers, that can be publicly viewable (hide the IP address obviously ). It shouldn't be necessary to do this to set up a server, but doing it this way should become the proper way to do it

+1 from me

Minor issue and really just a rehash of the whole skin stealing debate.

Far better to implement a local list of favourite servers (by IP) and also add regional masters to reduce the size of lists and possible duplicates.
