Is this a sound of death for my MOMO?
I started using a second hand momo to drive since I switched mouse to wheel control 2 weeks ago.and I use a 50% force feedback in lfs,the wheel isn't feel very smooth, and from last week,,when I drive the car,the ffb engine gave forth a sound, which sounds the sound of pulling/pushing the shifter lever,to make things worse, this sound always be heard with my driving.

Then I turned down the force feedback to 0%,and this sound faded away at once, therefore this sound from the ffb engine imo.Apart from that, the wheel still work as it was.

Is the sound means my ffb engine will stop working in few days? I wanna drive with it for more than 1 year. and thanks!
Same here. I'm with that problem about 2 months. And i trust that FFB engine can stop working. So, let's start search for the same engine right now.

yea we need to search for a new ffb engine and let it works well before the old one stop working.but it seems to be a bit too hard.
Your "force feedback engine" is nothing more than a small electric motor and some gears. Open the cover up (couple of screws on the bottom) and just look inside. See if there isn't and play or wear between the gears or if there is any broken teeth.

I opened the cover of my momo few days ago,and there's no broken teeth between the gears.

Yes the ffb engine is just a little electric motor, you mean i need to open the ffb engine?
If you want, you can open electric engine and look where the problem is but it wouldn't be so easy, but probably you will buy new one.
Check this out, because it can be loose motor screws, as it
did when i thought my red momo was dead

Oh, and if it turns out to be loose screws , don't tighten them too much, as it will result as a very stiff steering, and you have to do it all over again.
And last thing ... I would have never quessed it would be the loose screws causing the problem without Mr. SparkyDave ( Thanks ! )

thanks for these replies mates! and I thought I've found out the reason why my wheel screams while driving with force feedback.although my ffb engine has been heavily worn already, but the sound was just from another apart of wheel.it took me 3 hours work on it and finally it was fixed with some tissues.

I'm gonna tell mate who have the same problem.
Heh sounds familiar ... takes a little work, but worth it.

I'm glad u got ur wheel back to life.
