Quote :If it worked as it's supposed to, then there would be a mass overload on the electricity grids worldwide. But it won't, not everyone is going to do it. So there won't be a blackout

The power companies here have to take special preperations for the power surge at half time whenever England are playing in football matches, in the world cup they nearly couldnt cope - and 9 months later the maternity wards in hospitals where overcrowded...
What about all the people going to hospitals due to electricity related accidents
lmao another useless attempt at trying to get the world to be 'green'

it didn't work the last time and doubtless it won't work again. The energy required to turn on all the lights again all but cancels out any saving, and it's not like turning a light off for 10 minutes is going to do anything anyway so why bother. Just another wheeze imposed on us by blinkered governments trying to show their 'green credentials'. Pretty soon the world will wake up and realise we've all been conned
Quote from traxxion :Haha, same for Dutch

And for German.

"Wenn die Antwort ist derb, Energieeinsparung kann brutal."

hey i love the german translation.. really
and did you know die gewerkschaft is really stark !
Quote from Paranoid Android :Don't know about the other translations, but the greek one at least is horrendous!

The Russian translation has 1 error in it...otherwise it's good....
Quote from [plidex] mateo :i think that you didn't understand that the blackout won't be at the same time in all the world, it will be at 21:50 local time of each country, not at a universal hour, so there will be 24 separate blackouts

We should do this once a week or once a month, but everybody by its own, when we want and not because somebody says to do it. We would save more energy and with less risk. Massive blackouts are dangerous

This is the same spam/chain email I get in my inbox 10x per week. It's no better now that it's been copied and pasted onto the LFS forum as a thread. Spam is not welcome on this forum. Read Victor's announcement.
