Cmon, it was way too late. You could see it clearly from Kovalainen's in-car that he should never have gone for it.

but yeah there were loads of accidents like that this season, Coulthard and Button i believe in Bahrain etc. oh and Piquet out.....as far as I can remembered it might be late but he was there completely side by side already when they turn in, just that Webber chose to gave him absoblutely no room at all anyway~?
yeah so next time I turn in on someone in LFS, I can just reference it to how stewards have been making their decisions so far this season in the pinnacle of motorsport~

Kovalainen's front wing was at level with Webber's rear wing when they started to turn in. Kovalainen just hung there and pushed his front left into Webber's rear right.
Come on.....he barely got passed the back wheel. Heki had no right to be there, and to be honest it seemed a half hearted attempt from the fin

Plus Kovalainen was trying to brake on the wet part of the track with slick tyres. No commitment, not far enough along and causing Webber to lose places = penalty IMO.
Yeah we're thinking the same with Zeug. The 2 posts are almost the same, posted at the same time. 
It's a straight forward penalty, he gained a place by causing avoidable contact. You could argue the contact was not avoidable, but he took a look down the inside from too far back knowing the inside line was wet.

We could see the lead battle hotting up with the expected rain in 20 minutes and the difference in performance between the McLaren and Ferrari on hard tyres (Ferrari don't get heat into the tyres as much as McLaren so if it starts to spit they may lose out more). 20 minutes from now would leave us with 8 or 9 laps to go.
And they have just finished the last pit.
