I'm planning to build myself a race cockpit but I've ned made one before and have no clue where to start.

I've researched materials and come to the conclusion that bosch profile tubing which I intended on using is too expensive so I'm going to use timber and MDF.

I can build it all myself but is there any chance someone could help with the design because I have not a clue where to start. I plan on inverting my G25 pedal box and putting the seat on runners

well i may not have a wheel or a cockpit of my own, so this probably isn't the best advice!

but if it was me I'd start by getting the dimensions and stuff of all your components, and putting them into a sketch, a blueprint if you will, then you could place the seat, steering wheel etc. in the area you want it, (just guess-timate, the positions) to make sure you will have enough room then start from the bass up.
