simple q, is it possible to download a game or a demo via live while xbox 360 isnt on?

can you download with your computer whilst it is not turned on?

Nothin wrong with either machine in my eyes, both have their pros and cons. Although the X360 becomes tiresome when it breaks down, it doesn't bother me, cos I know I have lots of money to get something better with my change.... If I had bought a PS3, I wouldn't be so "rich".

Yes you can. If you start the download the switch it off via the controller it should stay on low power mode and download it

Yup, works just like that.

Start a DL, power down console via controller, console goes into sleep mode (i.e. no noise, but a flashing front light) untill the DL is finished, then the console totally shuts down.

BTW, not wanting to fuel the console wars, but I have both, and IMO, the 360 trumps all over the PS3, but thats just my opinion.

Well done all for bringing the PS3 v 360 fanboy flame wars to the LFS forum and not going off-topic at all.

As has already been said, yes you can continue downloads while the console is off, but I'm sure you need to set it up to do so. There's a connectivity setting that you need to enable to continue downloads when it's powered down, then you can do what the others have said - as far as I know it's not that way by default.

I was sure it was on by default, could be wrong though.
