Since you're buying this in a couple months time, I suggest you don't think about it right now. Let the prices for Core i7 drop, then we'll talk. At the moment it's just too expensive, so expensive that you'll spend $1000 on the CPU, motherboard, and RAM. If you're gonna be gaming a lot on it then you should go for a Crossfire/SLI setup of video cards, as Core i7 can finally push multiple cards to the limit.
But like I said, there's no point in talking about prices this early because they're sure to change after the holidays, especially if AMD releases the new Phenom 2, it'll push the Core i7 prices down.
