Disk partitioning.
In Disk management I need to format my new hard drive ready to clone my old hard drive to my new hard drive.

I installed Vista on the new drive for tempory purposes as my old hard drive is failing. When I installed Vista is partitioned my new 500GB hard drive into 2 partitions, one 50gbs the other 10gbs. Can I delete both of these partitions or only one of them?
Your wording is a little confusing, but as I understand it, you partitioned the drive as such:

50 GB: Vista?
10 GB: Something else?
440 GB: Un-allocated

You can delete all of these partitions, but I believe that will erase ALL the data on the drive. You can delete each partition individually and you will only loose the data on that partition. So if you don't need that Vista installation anymore go ahead and delete all the partitions. Does that help?

I just went ahead and deleted them all in the end after I posted on the forum.
