I am running online ky oval ,FZR and making fair progress(I think)with the help of several helpful good drivers,who have given me good sets,but,my weakness (one anyway) is I'm slow getting of the grid and into 5th gear,6th for drafting,I always have to play catchup,and my 1st and 2nd finishes have been mainly a matter of survival of crashes.

What exactly do you want? You are telling us your results but there's no question.

If you want advices on how to get a better start you should upload a replay showing a start of you and say what exactly you are doing.

This is also in the wrong forum, it belongs to the Beginner's forum, IMO.

I am the same as you old timer. no matter what i try to no at the start, more revs, less revs, higher or lower gear ratios, manual or auto clutch, etc.. i cannot seem to get anywhere near as good start as enybody else.

I will use blackwood as an example.

As soon as the lights go green everyone else is pulling steadily away from me, and by the time im ready for 3rd gear most others who were behind me have overtaken me.

By turn 1 the entire pack are all ahead of me 90% of the time and i am probably a good 10 or so car lengths behind the back of the pack so i rely on there being carnage on t1, so by the time i get there it has all happened and i can pick my way through the gaps between spun cars and overtake the slow moving recovering cars.

could be numerous things but hard to help without a mpr file like someone mentioned before. I would bet on slow reactions?, slow clutch? timign gear changes wrong, wrong revs, or you have a setup which is not set for faster starts hard to help without a replay as it could be anything

I can only tell you how I do the starts even if I don't no if I'm doing it perfectly right, but maybe it'll help you.

- I use manual shifting with Gamepad
- I always use full throttle
- when the lights switch to green -> 1st Gear, if to stay at full throttle or not depends on car and Setup.
While driving a low hp car as XFG for example, full throttle due to the whole start works for me but as mentioned before, dunno if there is a better way to start
- Remember: Full throttle after green lights only with low hp cars. When driving FZR for example, you have to decrease the throttle a bit till you have the feeling that your wheels are getting some grip. Practice that!!
