NFS Undercover - cars or swoop racers?
First ProStreet and now Undercover. The cars have so much grip and power it seem more like driving star wars swoop racers than cars. Undercover also has magic nitrous that also increases downforce, making cornering speeds just that much faster. Undercover cars go faster than the game can render the background objects in time. Anyway, a couple of videos, the pace is really fast in the tight stuff.

They made a patch to fix up some stutter issues, which I would only get when using fraps to capture during live play to make these videos. The only noticable difference in video quality from the above video is that shadows are rendered sooner (I set shadows to high).

mmmmmmkay.
I have never played this, and this is by far the gayest car game I have ever seen.
wow they have really lost the plot havent they.

i also find these rather amusing
Quote from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Need_for_Speed_12 :Electronic Arts CEO, John Riccitiello, stated that the previous release in the series (ProStreet) was only "an okay game...[and was] not good"[9] and that Undercover would "be a much better game".[26]

Quote from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Need_for_Speed_12 :Frank Gibeau (President of the EA Games label) stated during development that due to the fact that the sales of ProStreet didn't live up to EA's hopes for the game, the Need for Speed franchise would go back to its roots (although Undercover was already being developed before ProStreet).

Shame they've forgotten where and what those root are!
Need for speed in arcade physics shocker, as if we didn't already know......

On a related note, I really like Pro Street
Pro Street gets a lot of hate, heck I hated it when I played the PC demo, but I got it on the 360, and its a HELL of a lot of fun.

Didn't really like the tuning system in PS, thought it could have been done better, but wind testing a car, running it on the dyno after tuning, if a little more involved...yeah that would be pretty cool It would also be nice if the cars weren't just assigned to one dicipline, ie locked to that set of tracks...

I have the 360 version, and haven't tried it with a wheel..
Great thread..

NFS is a different genre to LFS.

Great post..

NFS is no longer what it used to be.
Great discussion.

NFS can be enjoyed by race-sim enthusiasts that don't have tight butt-holes.
one thing i noticed that is REALLY bad. Your spoiler isnt connected to the car
I have Pro Street for the PS2 (i am old school, and I am trying so hard to upgrade), and Pro Street isn't that bad. It's an ok game to play. Just one thing that is annoying is that I don't think you can easily hit 250 mph in a Skyline with 1073 hp in real life. Yes, my Skyline in PS has 1073 hp. I don't have a whole lot of proof, but come on a Skyline doing that speed?
