Crysis graphic problem (Video inside)
Hi guys.

This is a problem i have with both crysis games. It occoured after i installed my new EVGA GeForce 260. I have the latest nvidia drivers and mb drivers. Before i had 2x 8800gts cards in sli and the game did fine. I have tried reinstalling the game severeal times and tried all possible graphic settings in the game and in the Nvidia control panel. My temps look just fine, not over 70 degrees under load for the GPU.

The problem starts when the loading reaches 80%.

Specs:

Intel Core Duo 8400 (stock)
EVGA 780i motherboard
2GB Crucial Ballastix 8500 ram
Corsair 650W PSU
Vista Home Premium 32Bit

I have no idea, but the things I can think of responsible for this are:

-Too tight RAM timings
-Too much overclocking
-Overhating of any component
-PSU doesn't deliver enough power
-Memory on the card is damaged

How are other games running?
Thx for you answer.

I have never overclocked any of my current HW, its all stock. My PSU is as you see a Corsair 650W which should do the job nicely regarding the 260. All my other games (Far Cry 2, Fallout 3, Call Of Duty 4, Dead Space, Age Of Conan, LFS etc) works flawlessly.

I'm using NVmonitor and it shows about 70-75 degrees temp on the gpu under load, and not over 50 on system temps so i don't think temps are a problem either

RAM timings, i have no idea what that is, and i can assure you that i have never twinkled with it My RAM chips are getting a bit old now though and might soon need a replacement, but as all my other games is working i don't quite feel the need. And as i mentioned, the game worked before when i used 2x 8800GTS cards in sli. Maybe my 260 card just doesent like CryEngine.
Hmm looks odd, wrong screen size ??

Somewhere i read that NVidia helped to program it . With RAM timings I meant settings like CL, RAS, TRAS etc. in the BIOS, I found them to be very fragile on my own system. But when I think of it this would display in very random errors, not in a recurring like that. Is this texture corruption gone when you alt+tab out and alt+tab back into the game?

What you mean wrong screen size? I'm running the game in 1680x1050 which is max for my screen. But i have also tried it in different resolutions and it doesent help.

Alt+tab in/out does not help. When i alt tab back to the game, it goes to windowed mode for some reason and the graphics are still screwed.
Try different drivers. Fully uninstall any you have already and try the ones that both came with the card and the latest ones from Nvidia, and all the ones inbetween.
what keyboard do you use? I used to have issues similar to this in certain games with a saitek keyboard.
Sounds like the cached shaders created when starting crysis with previous hardware. You have removed all old save games folder or moved/backed up to another location? (usually my documents/my games/crysis etc)
I'm thinking it's something simple. No hardware failure at all, just because of how it's been explained.

Like the post above says, and others, uninstall the GPU drivers and get rid of anything left behind, like, using driver cleaner. Do pretty much the same for the game, and if you're using an old config or save game, back them up and remove them, let it create them both from scratch. If you're running fraps at windows startup, or otherwise, be certain it's closed. To be safe I'd install the latest version of DX9 and just let it run and write anything it winds up writing, if anything, yes even if you're running Vista.

I can't stress enough how important it would be to verify everything from the old installs and drivers are gone. In Nvidia Control Panel set settings to default, both global and for each game. Repeat if you use Nhancer or anything.
Update the bios on the card, if u kinda got the XFX brand one then just update the bios. XFX cards have always an outdated bios - dont know where u could get the new bios but it should be updated. If the problem wont go away then try older drivers. On me, i had to use Geforce 174.XX drivers to get GTA IV working. 184.XX drivers didnt work, had the missing texture problem. U may have the same thing on yours, maybe
