Does it make anyone else laugh when....
....you are racing side by side with someone and you look to your left/right and you see their driver's little head twisting round to look back at you?

I don't know why but it seriously makes me laugh every time it happens.

Apologies for the random and probably rather pointless thread.
Was most noticeable back when the MRT5 craze was in full swing. Coming in to T1 there'd be heads twisting round everwhere.
Hmm, wish I could join the fun, but don't see too much in chase veiw

Yea gree, one of the great things in LFS is the animation of the driver! IRacing doesn't even have that! (or at least it didnt ... i don't know about now)

Yes, exactly. It makes me laugh too. i.e. with my friend when we are side by side before drift, both looking on each other... and of course during races as well.

Yeah it's funny because down BL1 straight I starred at someone down the whole straight and he did the same, at the end of the race we did it too, starred eachother out lol....keep your eyes on the road fool :P

I wonder if the driver's head moves like your head if you are using TrackIR, that would be even more odd, especially when the sun shines and it distracts the infrared sensor, your head would be doing a major spaz fit.

Done it a few times and it's always good for a chuckle. It reminds me of Glenn Seton at Sandown a few years ago (I can't remember the exact year but I think it was mid '90s). He was going up the entire back straight side by side with Mark Skaife and they were looking across at each other the whole way. Seton was gee-ing up his car like a horse trying to get it to go quicker. I can't find it on YouTube.
if you notice hes looking back at you right before a corner rule 34 of lfs officially states that the situation has to be resolved via a game of chicken

That's not Rule 34

Found and uploaded the clip, it was 1996.
Haha, i did this at oval with a friend of my then we both didn't steer and hit the wall, i was laughing hard then
Sorry to be off-topic, but whats wrong with you people changing nation flags
It's the fish effect, go-with-the-flow thingy. Like the avatar thingy, if 1 first do it other will follow and in the end it turns out to be a big part of the forum that does it.

I did this a while back. Racing GTRs on blackwood. Dead even on the straight, heading for the right-hander side by side. In my excitement I totally forgot to hit the brakes and plowed straight-on through the gravel trap and hit the wall hard :hide:
What nation flags?

Look at your and others username on forum, you'll see a little flag in front of their name. That's the flag we are talking about

I'm a proud Finn so I will never gonna go with this flow.
Lol fu Finnland, your the only barrier that prevents Norway from jumping over and raping Russia back to stoneage.

Ye right

Also, youtube seemed to bug earlier so not sure if that comment whent trought, thanks for the video upload, nice little clip there
Seeing the other driver looking at me usually puts a smile on my face as well. It's also kind of reassuring that he's actually looking around to see where you are, so you don't have to worry about him accidentally turning in on you.

lol what.
Makes you almost wish there was a button to pop your hand up and give a little wave.. or the finger which ever best suites the situation.

It makes me smile, it's like for a split second I'm sharing something with someone I won't probably ever get to know.
