One question tho, since it`s a new computer and all, have you double checked in BIOS that you`re booting from the cd/dvd drive instead of an empty hard drive?

You can try downloading Windows 7 beta from a reliable source or waiting until RC goes out (most likely May) and installing it... to get a key for it, go to Windows 7 Beta official page, select which version of Windows and log in to a Windows Live account (e.g.: hotmail, xbox, etc). If you get this original key, you'll be able to activate Windows Seven and download Windows Updates, drivers etc just like you would on any other Windows installation.

Note: Build 7000 is the "beta" one that Microsoft released to public, anything other than that is a leaked version.
