Blue flag problem.
Right i keep getting kick from rooms because of this damn blue flag problem, if blue flag appears on my screen i will move out of the way but if im jus about to go around the corner i keep my line and wont move till im jus come out of the corner and cars bump into me and i get kicked for "not obeying blue flag" surely im not in the wrong? you cant expect me to move out the way half way going through a corner?

If im am in the wrong what am i ment to do please?

Thanks

You are in the right, holding your line/ driving predictably so that the faster driver can overtake is 100% correct, you should NOT be expected to just move over, that is very bad racetrack manners IMO, You are doing it the right way.
Some servers have strict rules for flags, but we all have to learn to race together, and I don't mind backmarkers, it just makes racing more interesting

let people know on the servers that you are new and some may offer help, send you a good setup or offer to spectate you and give you some advice on where you can make up some speed

More so in S2 servers

All of the cars in LFS allow you to change the setup of various items on them. You can change things like how strong the brakes are, how stiff the suspension is, what angle the wings are set to and many other parameters. You can learn more about what you can change and what effect those changes will have at this page of the LFS Manual. A setup file is simply a file which contains details of the various configurations.

Now about the "blue flag" problems you are having. Since you are a new driver you could be a lot slower than the more experienced drivers you're racing against. If you are quite a lot slower then it's difficult for drivers trying to lap you because it is very difficult to predict how quickly someone is going to take a particular corner if you've never raced against them before. In cars without brake lights (like the FBM) it's difficult to see when the person ahead is slowing down. People trying to lap you should take your possible lack of speed into consideration, but sometimes it's impossible to avoid someone if they're going a lot slower than a more experienced driver.
The LFS Manual says for blue flags:

Quote :If you get BLUE FLAG displayed on the screen, it means a player who is one or more laps ahead of you is attempting to pass. You must let this player past you without competing with him or unduly hindering his progress. It is debatable whether or not to leave the racing line, that is your choice. The most important thing is to be predictable. Don't make any sudden maneuvers, don't suddenly dive out of the racing line when the faster car is right behind you and already committed to pass, don't suddenly dive out of your line on the straight and jam on the brakes. If you're going to leave the racing line, do so smoothly, and so that the car behind can see what you're doing. Otherwise, if you're going to stick to the racing line, make sure the racer behind can see that you're keeping your line. Bottom line is, the driver behind is still passing, so it's his prerogative to pass cleanly, but it is the other driver's responsibility not to compete with the lapping driver, and not to intentionally prevent a pass.

The way I interpret that, is to move off of the racing line if it makes it easier for those behind to pass you (i.e, if you're not 50 yards away from a corner), and if there's plenty of warning. You can of course hold the racing line if you want to, but you cannot battle the faster car for the position. You're not expected to slow down too much either, but again, if it makes it easier on the faster driver and it won't affect you too much, you could ease off the throttle to let him pass safely. If you do slow down, you should hit the hazards (press 9) to warn the other driver.

Due to the amount of noobage encountered online, I find it far easier to move over and make room for the faster car, to prevent being rear-ended and blamed. It saves a lot of hassle, and if you're being blue flagged, you probably weren't battling for an important position anyway
