getting disconnected from servers
I have a problem over the last couple of days whenever i try to connect to servers as soon as i connect or during connecting i get kicked with an error saying something about ' could not add wear' & 'ok: avoiding buffer crash' and 'lost connection to host' & 'unexpected packet (118)

any ideas why this has started happening as it was working fine previous to this
Sounds like your only option is to package your PC and send it to me for waste disposal. I'll PM my address.

Seriously, how about if you install a fresh LFS to a different folder and try it from there and see if it gives the same error?
You have not installed any new firewall software lately?, any other applications stealing bandwith?
Time to dust off system restore I think
I'd run some spyware as well beckers.
Neither you or the server is running mecanik nor S2tweak?

^What a completely worthless post?

Ish_, are you on wireless in any way? If you connect to a server, figure out it's IP with netstat and start an endless ping to the server, do you loose packets? To start pinging, type "ping -t <ip address>" at a command prompt (start->run->cmd), if you get no response at all pick another server, one that doesn't block ping. Assuming you can atleast connect briefly.

If not, get a screenshot or write down the exact errors you get.

hi

yes i am on a wireless router but i have the same problem if i connect direct pc-->modem.

i'll try your tests and get back to you
If you have a extra computer you might want to try a local game..
Start a new (demo) local multiplayer game on the second computer.
From the computer with problems try to connect to the game (by IP)
hi,
on my servers i'll get the same errors?
don't know if ppl are disconnecting when the message comes up or if my server lost connectiojn to the master!

but what is definitly for sure is that i changed nothing on my root!
except an hosts entry for the DNS of the new master server!

nothing changed!

and the error didn't came up before the master server switched to the new IP/System....

thats for sure!
well, atm there are nor errors anymore...
don't know if it was the reboot of the server or the deletion of the entry in the hosts file!
