i just get annoyed of the AI driving like crap, hitting the walls, and reparing at once. i wonder if there is any option i can disable to keep the AI from doing so? so is there such an option?
Nope no option currently. As said many times before, the AI are not finished or even ready for the new physics. You really cannot prevent them from repairing... unless you can keep them on the track (which they aren't coded to do, heheh).
AI would be good, that way I could run over them with my Tweaked Monster truck and observe the damage... Surprized noone's thought of that yet, it's great fun!
Of course people thought of that. Within the first two days LFS2 Tweak was out people bragged about their monster trucks. I guess about everyone who messed with the tool created a monstertruck once.
Actually there is one option:
Start a Local Multiplayer game, Allow 3 cars on host (max) add two AI, add your self and off you go (but then you also is limited to no repair)
(for the autorepair option)
allright thx for the hint Sniper! i'll just wait for the new AI with real driving abilities(S2 next patch!). it's just that the entire purpose of this game is to give the players the best sim, and being able to repair just by hitting the space bar, well ... that isnt my idea of a sim! but im sure the devs are aware of that and know how to improve their game! allthough i didnt check the forum, im sure there's a thread about that in the improvement section! (+ the "running out of gas AI problem"!)
Anyways thx you guys
I've said it before, and I'll say it again, I would be more than happy for the Dev's to remove the AI completely and not "waste" any time working on it.
For me LFS is primarily (mainly) an online racing sim, and therefore AI has little or no use to the majority (a poll would prove either way) of LFS users.
Part of me wants to agree with you danowat, but the other part knows there are things I cannot do online - like wreck another players race intentionally or setup a touring car race at the oval where the emphasis is on dodging accidents... Lots of fun, but not compatable with online fairplay.
I do the ocassional AI race. The auto-repair and lack of refuelling is something I would like to see resolved eventually, but like you I am more interested in the online racing and the physics etc.
