Hi yesterday i was raceing on said server and was kicked for possably not saying sorry fast enough. I had about 6 or 7 five lap races and completed them all without any trouble but there where a couple in the middle where i had been hit from behind and knocked somebody else but from what i can remember i said sorry for all accedents. Anyway i am not a wrecker and would like to ask if you could unban me from server as i think there may have been a mistake. I thought it was just a 24 hour ban and i wasnt going to say anything as i thought i be allowed back on. But i have just tryed to gain acces to the server and i still banned . I really enjoy the server and car and track combo and i am gutted i am banned from it please could somebody rectafy this please.

Not sure what server that is - I rarely pay attention to the server names I only look for tracks and number of drivers..

The one I was on last time (running SO CLassic) - there was a bad vibe going on, but not much. Ppl very generally upset by wreckers who didnt appologize... Experienced it myself.

But, ofcause, that doesn't justify a spontanious ban.

I really dislike the current voting system and rarely use it - I generally dont like voting without knowing what I'm voting for.

I've done plenty of laps with you, and if an Teamccuk admin is looking, I can say for sure that Billeh is no wrecker.

Yeah but it has allways got people in it on the track car combo i like also i had 6 or 7 good races in there untill it got a bit messy .

Vote kicking is ok, but banning is way to immature in LfS, in the way it's currently handled.

I've played alot of Counter-Strike, and banning in that community - atleast in scandinavia, is alot more mature. Only admins and users with ban privileges can ban/unban players.

When someone finds a reason for a player to be banned, he either yells for the admin, by typing (in chat) "Admin", followed by relevant information - ie. "Admin, we have a cheater on the server!". The word "Admin" triggers a script that alerts the admin - downside is though that this requires the admin to be present at a computer where he can monitor the server - don't have to monitor actively though.

Or..
A better solution is to save a replay, send it to the admins and then let them decide.

Some admins are jerks themselfs - but hey, no one is perfect

But I can't take it serious that when somewhat crowded, and you get hit by a car from behind, some instantly think that the driver who touched you is to blame - I'm mean.. you can't even see that clearly - if you turn off side view smoothing, you can't even see the car just one position ahead from you at the grid! So don't think you can be so sure of what happend.

People should be more calm, and when they suspect someone to wreck on purpose, they should spectate and save the replay to have proof - and perhaps then, and only then vote to ban.

so nobody from teamccuk visit here or nobody can help ? dissapointing

Yes, thats true - but it bothers me more that players that don't know whats going on can just press 1 and wupti - as in Billeh's case - an innocent driver gets banned.

If that is the case, then it is just a 24 hour ban. Only an admin can set a ban for longer than the default. So, either there are somewhat careless admins for that server, or the offence was somewhat more egregious than thought.

If there are problems on our servers, we do our best to sort them out. We're currently running 12 LFS servers in total on our dedi server in a Docklands datacentre, hosting both Demo and S2. At present, 40% of our bandwidth usage is given over to LFS. We don't have enough manpower to admin them all, all of the time.

We try to do as much as we can but at the moment, many of our team members are simply too busy with other commitments and so we're dedicated to simply keeping the servers online and running so everyone ELSE can get some good use out of them. We've got Aston, Kyoto and South City configurations. We even have a Beginners server for you to send your noobs to, in an attempt to give newcomers a step up. When we DO have to restart the servers, we don't even kill them. We go in and let people know BEFOREHAND, and we wait until races end, and THEN restart.

We love LFS, and we're completely in awe of the community. It's a community we're proud to be a part of and are committed to contributing to, so forgive me for taking issue with you slamming us. I think you're out of order.

Well a big thanks goes to SamH thanks alot m8 love the server was justa shame that i got banned from it for a few days as it seems to be the only server with more than 10 people on soclassic with fox .

Sooooo true. In my first league race I was taken out from behind on a tight bend in the first few laps and I made a mental note of the drivers name for future reference.

Then when I watched the replay I saw he was totally absolved and the real culprit, well he just went in so late and so fast that I just burst out laughing to watch it.

Sorry it wasnt intended to be a comment on the owner(s) of the server just the people and type of incedent that i have endured within ONE of your servers.

for the record i dont mind if meople occasionally cause accidents, and im willing to smile and be pleasant if i get crashed out by accident (even by those im lapping) provided those people recognise their errors and are appologetic. Its just that for a while in your S0 classic FOX server the trend was quite different to this and hense i now avoid going there.

Pete, I apologise for misreading and misunderstanding.

The same people who visit South City are the ones you find on other servers too, but I think this particular car/track combo is an adrenaline pusher. It's such an intense drive. I love it, but I can imagine that when things go badly - especially through the chicane - tempers can get short.

We seem to be on a see-saw regarding this track and banning. We turned voting off for a long time on this config, but there was another thread about our server, where some S2 wreckers took full advantage of that. So we turned it back on. Now it's on and getting misused, I've turned it off again.

Now that it's off, if anyone meets a wrecker, PLEASE! PLEASE!! PM me with an MPR.

I am going to start saveing replays after every race to avoid my name being taken as a wrecker. I try my hardest to avoid accidents but sometimes u cant do enough or somebody nudges your back makeing it look like your the one to blame. Anyway i will keep a eye out on your server if i am raceing and something happens i will save replay and pas it on to you as soon as i can m8 thanks again and hope to race with you soon and anyone else who likes the fox and soclassic combo

It's carnage in there at the moment, the kick/ban option is gone and there are prats driving the wrong way and generaly taking the piss.

Unbelievable. I just picked up Nighty's message, went in on the server and banned 2 people out of the chicane for a year each, where they were sitting and wrecking. Another I banned for refusing to stop scrolling.

I can't believe S2 licensees can behave this way.

chances are they dont want to be part of this community, or they just want to give it a bad name...

i went into a server a few weeks ago, accidently hit someone because i missed my braking point (wasnt even a hard hit) he was still ahead of me afterwards... after i said sorry he instantly voted to ban me, but if it wasnt for other people in the server then i would have been banned (cant remember names) but they knew who i was because i post on here, one of them saw the incident on spectator and told the rest not to accept, in the end this guy was being persistant at trying to ban me and got vote kicked

this community rules!! all i have to say, and it's good seeing the server admins doing something about the wreckers or people who crash on purpose, or sit on one part of the track, we don't need them!
