Quote from Blackout :That curb in FXO GTR picture looks floting in the air a bit. Maybe its an illusion or its bugged.

Or going fast/roughly over the curb? Remember that you don't have to take that kind of corners so slow anymore with the new physics...

There has been no update about the new aston config (or then they gave that already with the FXR pic), GTR cars cockpit improvements (?), locked diffs (?) or... hmm that's about it then. Altough the upcoming teaser updates could be something very minor gfx updates so they can delay the release to the end of April.
Yes the new Aston config, we are going to have it but the guestion is which of the different ones is it?
But I still wonder what is the interesting feature wich was mentioned last week. "We have also been experimenting with another interesting feature as well".
Im hoping we are tortured with new GTR cockpits the new Aston, and with something. Engine heating/radiator damage maybe? (edit. forget that, there isnt even temp dial in the FO8)
I already can't wait for the next update tomorrow.
But the AS Config is pretty clear now, AS Cadet pits, leads into the AS Nat-tidbit to the news-screenie, into the (reversed) GP part, until the GP-part goes into the mini-Eau Rouge and leads back to the AS Cadet start/finish.
I don't know wether they'll do an own teaser for that. Though, when I think about it, they propably will - for those wo are less active in the forums.

Vain

Seems pretty clear based on the FXR screenshot (you can see a tire barrier through the car windows/over the hood that it'll use the GP/Historic infield. Beyond that, who knows... might hybridize Club and Nat'l on the other end to make another long config or it might just tack the GP/Historic section onto the Cadet course. That'd make for an interesting combination of really slow corners and high speed stuff.

Could also go through the Eau Rouge bit and down through Nat'l T1, then take Club T1 back toward the Cadet pit straight (though they'd have to reconfigure the Cadet pits to make that work.)
Opel Astra? No wai!

And that new Aston could allso be: using the bigger pist, to the new turn and all the way to "eau rouge", left, and right from the next (in that cadet pit straight) and to finish.
dam, i said yesterday that we'd get the tyre physics then the asto config.
I hope i'm right. I CAN PREICT THE FUTURE. WOOOHOOOO.

It looks like the banana's trying to rape.
Well I don't think they'd wanna go:
tyre sidewalls, aero improvements, better cockpits, better tyre physics... and then "a new aston road texture"... also if you look at that order it is graphics/3D modelling, physics, graphics/3D modelling, physics, and in increasing relevance in each category. So I'm betting for a more important graphics feature tomorrow and then there are no more important physics improvements than the tyre ones so a patch release on Sunday if not tomorrow even.
Rappa, given the amount of time you spend on these forums don't you think you've got enough invested in the game to buy a copy already?

Who said anything about a "road texture"? We're talking about a new driving config.

i have s2
I haven't invested that much, it's just my post per day is like 2.00 or somthin'

It looks like he did.
Hah, my bad.

Nicely done, sir.
Quote from DeadWolfBones :Who said anything about a "road texture"? We're talking about a new driving config.

I was saying they wouldn't want to kill the mood. The importance of the features seems to be growing and there aren't many features more relevant than tyre physics. Posting something like "new road texture for aston" tomorrow would just be a downer for everyone, they'd want to keep the relevance growing and I don't think they can for much longer.
i'm just really silly. I'm in sixth grade. Youngest poster.
Hmm the surprise... What about racing in wet conditions? Since the tire physics have been improved that would be possible. Don't you think?
It's really difficult to get the right angle and field of view, especially because I can't get mine to ride a curb that (until the patch) doesn't exist for me. I haven't got it quite right, but here's a comparison between the old and new FXO GTRs.

I think it's fairly clear they're the same. There are no changes to the FXO body.

Astra? I looked at the image posted and thought.. ORLY? no wai (groan)

But then I went looking..

Oooer! Now I'm not so quick to dismiss the similarities

[Editage] Yeah, before anyone says anything, I know it's a model.. but it's definitely a model of an Astra

tires look slightly bigger but that's all i see between the 2 fXR
For me it looks almost the same, if only the headlights are a bit more 'square' in the real car, but in the 2006 FXR they look almost the same as in the Astra.
Quote from marsaz :Hmm the surprise... What about racing in wet conditions? Since the tire physics have been improved that would be possible. Don't you think?

If you want wet racing conditions, pretty well all you'll need to do is uninstall the forthcoming patch
that's it. Case closed.

Well, Iam really optimistic, and I think that the devs can do "miracles"
Just wait, and be prepared for a loooooooong wait, till the patch comes out also , I don't think it is going to be released this Sunday... I would be happy, if i were wrong, but that just seems too soon 4 me
with these physics changes, does that mean that all records and hotlaps will be erased?
