I agree that the release will be sooner rather than later. The devs know we will have every pixel of those screenshots covered, and they won't dissapoint us with a Visor sunstrips update. New aston config, suprise then release.
But what is the suprise???!!!
I would love to see the fxr made fwd and to have a rb4 GTR car, its always bugged the hell out of me that the fxo which is a great fwd car, had a 4wd GTR version!
I already made my version of a RB4 GTR so they can do it too!
About the Aston config. There are 6 unused turn combinations as Aston is today. I guess the one combo used in the screenshot (tires3.jpg) is a mixture of cadet and historic .
First thing to test after trying to drive a rwd car with street tires
I really hope it is gonna fixed with this patch. Would make starts much more interessting ...
I doubt they'll tell us the surprise at all, they might just leave it in there to be found. That's how proper presents work after all.
Would a FWD with that sort of grunt be worthwhile? Honest question - I don't know. I'm hoping it's the LX8 of lore! After all, we're getting new tyre physics with the slipperiness fixed, so maybe the LX8 will be driveable with the new system.
EDIT: Look at WTCC for examples of very over powered FWD cars, not sure how many there are now but the Alfas were. (i aint up to date with the new season) Also with the tire improvements they wouldn't be much harder than the XFR currently is to drive.
I just want something to match BTCC cars...which is basically the fxo with slickmod :P
I was thinking maybe that config, or maybe a combination of AS Club and AS Cadet. Starting at Club's grid, missing out the Cadet pits and touring the Cadet circuit in reverse, then back on to the Club circuit to finish.
Ah I see Hopefully we won't end up with yet another situation where the RWD variants are a second a lap slower though...
And I hope they make the UFR a bit more competitive! There's only a couple of circuits where it can keep up with the XFR and it's a shame because it's a fun little motor.
Browsing around youtube (for the 1st time) i found this video of some btcc race (or several races) but it looks to me that this is the most common public race in lfs... http://youtube.com/watch?v=AFfcNvwTk_U&search=btcc
I think they could do some kind of mechanical wear and failure...they already have engine damage caused through excessive revving which makes the engine sound like popcorn and go slower...surely it wouldn't be a huge leap to have time scaled failures...say have your engine develope a problem and get reduced power until you pit and have it fixed (great for endurance racing) If you want to push it then they could add smoke coming from under the bonnet...the coding for engine wear resulting in a power reduction is already there, so is the coding for tire smoke.
EDIT: i love you, just watched the BTCC video, those were they best days, back in the 90s it was awesome stuff to watch and the drivers were more bonkers than they are now.
seems as if you take this game too seriously. You realise this wont get you anywhere, and that this is only a GAME. Yes, people call it a sim, but in general it is a videogame.
If only we could take away your internet connection
