Button will be much quicker than Hamilton!!

Who will be faster, Hamilton or Button? :)
I have my own idea on this of course, but I am just interested to see what everyone else thinks
100% think that Hamilton will be faster
I THINK THAT MICHAEL SHUMACHER WILL BE SOO INFLUENCED FROM ALL HIS L33T KARTING THAT HE'LL BE 30 SECONDS A LAP FASTER THAN ALL THE OTHER DRIVERS AS THEY DON'T HAVE SO MUCH RECENT KARTING EXPERIENCE, AND HIS BALLS WILL BE MASSIVE!!!

/thread.
well button is less likely to kill the car.
Raw pace, Hamilton no doubt.

Brains, Button all the way.

You forgot to put random words in bold and say what a rip-off the BBC is, but it's still good.

Hare Hamilton will be very fast and crash while tortoise Button will benefit.

Unless Hamilton finds even more consistancy.

I think Button understands that he is very much number 2, so unless Hamilton falters early on in the season I don't think he'll be defending his title.

And then of course Rosberg and Schumi are an unknown quantity, as is Alonso at Ferrari, theres no guarentee that Mclaren will be the amazing dream team some seem to suggest.

Remember that the 2010 regulation cars with their heavy fuel loads are likely to suit Button's less aggressive driving style more than Hamilton.
initially i thought hamilton but now im not sure, reduction in front end tyre grip should produce a car that suits button more than the current regs and with running heavy at the start hamilton may find his rear tyres die earlier than button's. but on the otherhand all cars will at some fuel load not be handling as their driver wants and button is known for not responding well when the car's not perfect whilst hamilton is gaining a reputation for driving round handling problems and still producing the times. overall in qualifying definatly hamilton, races probably hamilton but i wont be surprised if its button.

what may well settle it is a combination of button not being allowed to do any work with mclaren till january 1st, the media demands of being world champion coupled with hamitons work ethic and the fact that the 2010 car's basic charectoristics will have been pretty much finalised before button was even considered, all combining to produce a car that at the start of the season is not to button's liking.
I belive the new regulations will suit better to Button(as he has more experience overall so it should be easier for him to adapt himself to new situations). But Hamilton will have full support from his team, as he's part of the McLaren family... And he'll clearly be the n°1, just have a look on how they treated Alonso and Kovalainen in the past... So I'd put my money on Hamilton.
schumi .....

I'll start putting those parts in once some corporation starts funding my posts.

Button will be faster, but Hamilton will finish higher than him.

Hamilton all the way.

I fackin hate Button.
Hamilton will blow his front tyres, he can't keep them alive. Button will just keep his distance then.

Brain+pace+good car > fast and furious
I hate Hamilton but I can't deny he's fast as balls while Button might only be fast as balls in a fast car.
If Hamilton's shares his set ups with Button it could be close, if he doesn't he'll win by a country mile. This is a kid that beat Alonso in his rookie year, and seeing Button's face on Top Gear... well what more evidence do you need about who is the better driver?
Hamilton is more gifted thats for sure, lets just see if hes matured thats pretty much what it will come down to.
I think Hamilton will be faster, but Button is not there to be a number 2, and he will be pushing him hard all season. But I think Schumacher will be faster than both of them.
No fuel stops, it's all about the tyres: Button has that hands down, he looks after them and Hamilton doesn't. This is another year when Button could, if the car is ok and he drives like he did at the end of last season, be a champion. The regulations are prime for his driving style - whether the car suites his style is another question.

Overall I think Hamilton is a better driver, Lewis has more experience at being fast and delivering results than Button, even though Button has been around longer he's spent most of it driving like a twat at the back of the field being noteworthy for not being in any way noteworthy - or if for anything, being a man not of his word (or signature).

Hamilton is more experienced with the pressure at the top, Button is going to want to come out and win on his first outing and show the world he's the best, and honestly, he really isn't. If there's a "best" that's still racing in F1 today then it's either Hamilton or Schumacher. I'll be rooting for Hamilton, but I respect either (these days, it's taken me a long time to forgive Schumacher leaving Jordan but i'm over it now :P ).

Tbh I don't care as long as one of them does well, so long as theres a British World champion driver/team I'm happy.

Would be great if they finished 1-2 in standings, 3 british champions in a row?

Schumacher doesn't have balls, never had them, nor will ever have some.
the tyres should be interesting, i wonder whats the shortest stop we'll see, autosport recon we'll see some sub 3 second stops next year and possibly a sub 2.5 second stop
I think Button will be the class of the field, he is such a great driver, like he said on top gear, he on purposely made his car slide exiting T1 at the Brazilian GP to "put Buemii off" while being inches from his car, whadda guy.

Not, wanker.

I know... That's what I thought... He clearly didn't mean for it to happen. If he had of touched Buemi he would of span himself off. He crapped his pants basically and wants to seem like Hamilton by being cheeky, the only difference is Hamilton does cheeky well I think and doesn't look like a twat, Button on the other hand doesn't do cheeky well. He does twat well tho.
