Online play on wireless LAN
Just setup a wireless LAN with a linksys g router and usb wireless g adapter and cant join LFS online play. Im on the remote pc connecting through the wireless usb adapter that is on a new usb 2.0 hub.

When i try to connect LFS says:

"Unable to connect to master server

1 if you are protected by a firewall it may have blocked the connection
2 may be temp impossible to connect to master server from your isp
3 master server may not be running"

Im connected at 54mbps with an 86% signal. Excellent according to PC.

I dont have a software firewall on this computer

Im guessing the servers are all up ok?

Could the router firewall cause this problem? It didnt mention a firewall when i set it up

Any recommendations appreciated.

PS its taken me so long to set the wireless up. Gonna start getting mad if i cant play LFS!

You might have to open some ports.
Browsing the web works I guess?

LFS uses 63392 and iirc also 29339 (not sure about the last)
Its using 63392, havnt tried any others. Ill give the other one a go.

Yeah net works fine however (dont know if this is relevant) to get the wireless adapter (hence net) to connect to the router i have to plug the usb cable in each time i boot up ie it doesnt start up automatically. Quite annoying.
Try using SocksCap. Is a tool which can make software passing through socks proxy by packet encapsulation. I have the same problem with a Proxy Server and SocksCaps solved it.....
Install it in your computer and set it up to use the http port (80) with LFS.exe.

I hope i can help you, sory for my bad english

Cya!
when I set up a LAN game at home I had to enter the IP addy or port num of the other computer so that it wud work.

If it wont work just both go on-line its easyer & more peeps to race against!
