MOMO racing returns - any experience
Hi,

I have had my MOMO for 1 and a half years, it says in the manual that I have a 2 year warranty, although ive read a lot of people saying it only has 1 year. Which is it??

Also has anyone had any experience with getting replacement pedals?? Do you phone them up?? Do you have to send them your pedals??

Thanks

Dave.

The warranty from logitech is one year. If your wheel is still under warranty, you can call them up and they will ask you to fax a copy of your receipt and they will send you a whole new set(wheel and pedals), and you dont have to send them your old ones! I had to do it a couple months ago and they were very helpful with it, had my new wheel/pedals within a week!(nothing was actually wrong with my set, i just figured id try it before my warranty was up..... shhhhhhhh)

The booklet I got with my wheel says its 2 years. And indeed, I had my wheel replaced after more than one year, no prob.
About the pedals - I don't know how it's done in different countries, but here I just packed both the wheel and pedals and went to the store where I bought it, showed the receipt and left them my phone number. Two weeks later they phoned me, saying I can get my new wheel
Although I think it's not uncommon to just phone them and then you are sent a new one and are kindly requested to cut the USB cable on the old one (that's what I heard at least).

Hmmm, maybe its just one year here in the states then. Then again, i never read the manual either

I didnt have to send them anything back, nor did they request that i cut the cable I'm glad they didnt, i now have a spare set of both in my attic!!
Ok,

So they are sending me a new wheel but they have told me to cut off the USB and pedal leads and send them to an address. Anyone had any experience of this? What happens if you dont??

I really want to keep my pedals (they half work) and wheel as a backup incase this new one goes wrong.

Shall I risk not sending them??

My guess is that if you don't send the cut-off connectors, they won't send you a replacement wheel. It's just a way for them to know that your current wheel is really broken - saving you the hassle of sending the complete unit back to them (which may be expensive). If they didn't, everyone would start asking a new wheel...

Anyway, you cut off the connectors... But why shouldn't you be able to put new connectors on it? Even if you have two left hands you probably know someone with a soldering iron that can help you out. The connector's used by Logitech are nothing special (at least not on the DFP I have). Every electronic parts shop has them in stock. You just have to find out the correct wiring.
No, they are sending me the new wheel first. Then I have to send them the connectors.

What you think?

I think I will atlest wait until they pester me about it.

Dave.
