Looking to buy a wheel and pedals of course. I might be able to find an ECCI setup for $800 which is a lot, but is it worth it compared to the Logitech or Fantec.

Also, looking to buy a chassis. I am a software engineer, consultant...Think I can write off the chair/desk, ie. chassis, as a business expense?

Anyway, RE: wheels. Which one...

Fanatec has the best bang for the buck, easily... Their Clubsport Pedals are in the league of ECCI and Frex, but cost only part of their price... I hear their wheels are very good as well... Fanatec has a problem with QC though, that's undeniable... Support is quite good and can help you - Fanatec usually is very forthcoming should the wheel be faulty, they often send spare parts or replace the wheel if there's a bigger problem... They are slowly getting on top of their issues, and once those are solved too Fanatec is looking into a bright future...

Logitech is the king of mass market wheels, not without reason... Their products are well thought out and mostly reliable... Pedal longevity is their achilles heel though, potentiometers may need recurring cleaning later in life...

You can't really go wrong with either of those brands, and it's up to you how much money you're willing to spend on it... I would advise to a wheel with 900° of rotation though - it's just more immersive than (a bit more than) a quarter of a turn either way...
Mind and always check ur mirrors if playing online... Most new players forget that the car is longer than the thickness of their screen...
