Live For Speed is an online racing simulator - They tell it straight away on the official website, saying that the offline mode isn't representative at all of the capacities of the game. The real business is to be found in the multiplayer mode, no doubt.
For the record the sheer behaviour of the AI was slightly better than it is now before the release of patch Y. They actually knew how to pass, and weren't sticking on their line all the time. Problem was, they were very slow, sometimes 7-8 seconds off the pace. Patch Y fixed that issue, but now the AIs are extremely boring to watch since they are extremely predictable and have no more situational awareness.
AFAIK it is one of the (many) priorities of the devs to make better AIs, fix those issues and make them drive even closer to the limits, which is something they do not know how to do yet.
Edit: If you want to know more on the matter, you should read the excellent PDF file located in the opening post ofthis thread, explaining you roughly how AIs work in simracing.
One day, when Phlos has returned to the developer throne, when Lerts has travvelled back to the future to compete in the wormhole racing cup, when Scirocco Island is discovered and Rally pack is released.. then the AI update will be here.
For now.. it's as best as much fun as watching gay porn and beeing on sausage parties.
FYI sausage parties are those parties where it's 20 boys and one girl, which is either lesbian, too drunk to **** or in rellationship.
because both of them was giving a realese Date, then both become a silenc progress and nobody knows how long it will be realy take to publish the game.
