If you where the Boss of the Renault F1 team
IMO, i would go for either Sutil or Snap up Talent from a feeder series who actually looks promising.

Kimi imo isn't motivated enough for the drive but if he was he would easily be the first pick
Either Sutil or Glock. Voted for Glock.
Voted for Kimi no doubt, but cant see him getting into a Renault, well dont even see him getting into F1 again, unfortunately.
I would eat lots of cheese and go crazy with escort girls.

Edit: Oh there was a poll.
Sutil and lots of loose women.
Quote from 91mason91 :Theres ITV1 for that.

Was watching that today

Back on topic, Sutil needs a competitive car, Renault would be his best choice as I don't see Ferrari, Mclaren or Red Bull getting rid of any of their drivers.
Well maybe Ferrari for Kubica, but we'll come to that later
Petrov or Glock, despite being a Kimi fan, I just don't see him motivated enough to come back.

Voted Kimi but he appears to be a lazy shit , so go go Glock.
Voted Sutil. I don't think he'd be that much expensive and he's doing a very good job atm at Force India.

Raïkkonen would be good for PR but I guess he'd ask too much money. And I'm not sure if he'd bring so many points. Not sure if he's motivated enough for a come back, and it wouldn't be such an easy thing to do with the new ruleset. I'm sure he's having enough fun in WRC, in a less competitive environment(as there are like 10 WRC cars per rally nowadays...), without having so much pressure for results.

Petrov. Well, he's bringing a lot of money, so I guess it wouldn't be an easy decision for Boulier to fire him. But well, Kubica scored like 6-7 times more points than him IIRC. Afterall Renault could have aimed easily for the 4th place at the champ, in front of Mercedes, if they had a proper 2nd driver...

Heidfeld, it's asking for trouble since he doesn't have good relations with Kub since they were teaming-up at BMW. His experience with the Pirelli would be interresting to have though.

Glock, Kovalainen, why not. Could have been nice picks but I prefer Sutil

I'd love to see how Grosjean would do also, everyone thought it'd be all over for him after being fired by Renault back in late 2009, but he's done such a fabulous season this year. He's been straight away in the pace after jumping in many cockpits, in GT1, GP2 and AutoGP. Since he now has a deal with Gravity, maybe there's a (very small) chance we can see him again at the pinacle soon?
Raikkonen, provided that he doesn't demand an exorbitant salary.

Otherwise, it's a hard call. Both Sutil and Kovalainen deserve better seats: Sutil is probably faster, but Kovalainen had driven well for Renault in 2007. Petrov has been woefully bad, so he shouldn't be re-signed. I'm not sure about Glock. Heidfeld should probably move on, although he's still an excellent driver. I'm tempted to say they should sign Jules Bianchi, by virtue of his French nationality (Renault still owns 25% of the team) and his solid junior results, but bringing on a rookie is high-risk.
I voted for Look for an Upcoming driver.
Either way if Renault had of Chosen anyone there other then Petrov they would pretty much be in 4th place in the constructors without a doubt.

That depends on how much money Petrov is bringing in. No money means no development: just look at HRT.
Sutil, Raikkonen's time is long gone IMO
If he has the Motivation he certianly would be at the pace, Webber is 3 years older and look how good he is.
Heidfeld. massively consistant and with the right car he could win race after race.
I'd choose myself.
Any of the 2nd tier teams would be mad not to consider Sutil on a 1 or 2 year contract.

Out of all the choices listed in the poll he's the only one i'd be considering.
I don't think Petrov's been "woefully bad." He's a rookie in a middling car and he's had a middling year. That's a successful debut in my eyes. He needs some time to ripen is all.

I'd either stay with Petrov or go with Sutil.

True, and he has shown signs of talent unlike say Piquet Jnr, but its going to take atleast 3 years to get to his potential and Renault wouldn't have that long, considering they have a chance at next years title, having a driver like Petrov will massiverly hurt the cars set up development for Kubica if he where to challenge.
I would hire Kimi. He has lot of problems with rally and i think that the very difficult year with that gives him motivation to race in f1 again. Of course he is expensive but i believe that he is worth of it. And what i think, Kimi and Robert also comes along together quite good
#24 - CSF
I don't think Kimi would be that competitive tbh, I expect he'd struggle ala Schumacher. The signs were that Kimi had lost something big after 07. A year in Rallying will not have helped that. I'd still expect Kubica to maul him Rosberg style.

To be fair in 09 He performed well dispite the car, and he is 11 years younger then Schumacher so i think he has plenty more to give, its just hes mindset, but to be honest he has always looked unmotivated because he has that lazy look to him, but who knows?
