problem with MOMO racing...
When i play LFS (or other cargames) and i steer too fast, you have to hold the wheel to the right or left, to go straight, so when holding your steering wheel to the right when going straight, it's pretty confusing when racing...

What do i have to do?
contact logitech?

and do more people have this problem?

p.s. I searched

p.s.2 pic. of steering wheel:

Are you calibrating everytime you start LFS? In the control options, at the bottom of the screen, you'll see "lock calibration". Change this to "no" and everytime you start LFS, just give the wheel a turn lock to lock and depress the pedals fully. Then it will be calibrated for the length of your racing session.

Sounds like it isn't calibrated and when you start to drive, it calibrates every time you turn the wheel. So, if the first turn is a left hander, it will calibrate that direction and the following straight section, the wheel won't be centered until you hit a right hand corner.
ok, I will try it...
But I don't think it's that actually
I think I have the same problem with my black Momo. When I turn the wheel too fast (have to countersteer) the wheel loses calibration. I haven't actually managed to do this while turning right really fast, but only when turning left. And the wheel didn't do this from the beginning, but suddenly started to do this some months ago. And it's not in just LFS, but every sim.

I've tried older drivers and had the wheel open many times trying to figure out what is wrong with.
Have you tried DXTWEAK ? Search the forum it's here somewhere.
I've had DXTweak2 on the computer since forever and I actually need it to calibrate and setup my VPP pedals.

I can actually make it lose calibration in DXTweak2 too by turning left really fast.

I know all the basic Momo problems and also had them -> the pedals. But this problem is the weirdest thing..

maybe it's just wear (that's what happen when you got i while, isn't it?)
cause i got EXACTLY the same problem, but then when I turn right...
It could be wear, but I doubt it because I haven't found anything visibly worn down.

Everything actually suggests that the optical sensor or the disc that rotates in front of it is dirty/dusty. Or the disc can be loose. These can make the sensor lose count. And I just now read in the wingmantam.com bulletin board that Tom (one of the wingman team guys) says that is the reason. And he also said that there is no way you can turn the wheel too fast for the optical sensor to lose count. Just in case someone wonders

But I suspected this before and I have cleaned them twice already and it didn't help.

If I hadn't spent my money on the VPP pedals I would've bought a DFP already
are you using the profiler? and do you use any other USB devices when using the wheel (KB ,mouse, modem, hub)?

I have had this problem before and I think its latency related .

SD.

PS Get a S2 Licence its great fun
You probably meant that response for BlakjeKaas, but since I have the same problem I'll answer on my behalf

I think you might be on to something. I have other USB devices connected; VPP pedals and a Logitech gamepad for extra buttons ("dashboard"). I also use the Profiler and I have uninstalled it and tried without but it didn't help. So I don't think that is the cause for the problem atm.

oh yes, thats the other problem i have with mine, its the same as your problem, the wheel finds a new centre point, and returns to it, it doesnt affect the way ou drive, its just quite annoying!

i'm not using the profiler (where can i get it, and what is it?)
i haven't got any other USB devices connected when using the wheel.
And about the S2 license... maybe... LFS is cool, i got the money, but first I want that the wheel functions good and everything...

sorry for the late response, but i was on holiday...
i have just send something to logitech,
stay tuned for results (they say I can expect a mail tomorrow.)
