Having huge problems! CPW error [fixed]
Im having real problems and im finding it hard to understand why.
Every time i go into an online game everything works ok for a few seconds.
I go into the server the welcome messages come up and the car skins are loaded. Then all of a sudden this message comes up anf i get booted out.

It would be really great if anyone could help me i have been really getting back into LFS and then this happens

As far as i know i havnt changed anything since i went on it the other day.
I have tried installing the new patch that hasnt helped, im running out of ideas.

Thats weird I havnt installed anything apart from the normal patches,

I guess i'll try a fresh install
yeah, what the hell, I started getting this too...not running any mods, everything's been working fine until today I started getting CPW errors...

I guess I'll reinstall the patch...

Scott
Yes I am getting this too today... no mods installed, wouldn't even know how to

I'm running latest patch too

Quote from Vain :That's LFS's new anti-cheat system. You're using some kind of mod that LFS doesn't like.

Vain

no, its that, but it has also blocked out all test patches, whitch means either you our the server are using a test patch, just upgrade to patch U and youll be fine
Ok, I re-downloaded and now it's fine... panic over lol
ditto
I'm pleased you fixed the problem - but I'd like to know which version you were using when you kept getting CPW errors.

LFS isn't supposed to let you join with an unsupported version. So... if you could join with an unmodified version (as you did) you shouldn't have got that error.

It's good that you could fix the problem but I'd like to fix the bug anyway - so, if you can remember, please tell me which version you were using and which version hosts you were joining, and were you joining them using the list of games, or some other method?
Hi Scawen sorry I didnt check this thread before now.

I was running patch S trying to connect through the ingame browser. I can't for the life of me remember what version the servers were running but I assume it was U as most were at that point.

Hope this helps
I was having a problem too racing with my friend, he kept CPWing off in my server, we are about to try a different server becuase maybe its my problem.

Edit: He also re-installed LFS a few times to no avail, it kept failing, I could ask him to start posting here.
Edit2: Re-installed to alternate directory, No unlocks so used demo, CPW still
Edit3: I think we have discovered the problem, he kept DLing the patch S version :S
Over the weekend when all the LFS sites were down, I was trying to check lag by reverting back to patch S. I thought I would be able to overwrite all the patch S files on top of the patch U files and that would work. Then got this CPW error all weekend. It was driving me crazy, because I remember seeing threads about CPW, but the forum was down and I couldn't check. Once the forum was back on Monday, I read up on it and figured out my problem. Either go fresh download of S or fresh download of U. I think the T test patches also gives you CPW error. Trying to connect to the [noobs] and Chops server all last weekend, they probably thought I was trying to "cheat" LOL.
Just got this error on a few different servers, can't get on my main box with my wheel so thought I'd just go cruising using the mouse on my other PC. Turns out I haven't upgraded it to latest patch yet.

As this is the PC I never play LFS on, just maybe watch a few replays, there's no mods or anything on it.

It says I'm using 0.5S.

I'll just upgrade now
Finally fixed this. Although you only needed to get the latest version, I needed to know why this was happening. Anyway I found the reason why it was going wrong, for version S, and I've fixed that now. Thanks for the reports.
Working on a nice day like today - dedication
Don't worry - I had my reasons why I had to do a morning's work today.

The afternoon I spent working on the roof gutters of my house, it's time to replace the leaking iron gutters with some nice new plastic ones.

Huh?

Pictures, damnit! We demand pictures!

Cheers,

Allan.
All right then. This is the easy bit (preparation and painting the fascia boards and fitting the new gutters).

The hardest part was removing the old iron gutters because they were heavy!

Anyway I'm happy now that there will be no drip (aka raging torrent) out the back of my house when it rains.

My house is the one on the right, the neighbours on the left have the new loft conversion and are now building an extension out the back as well, kind of noisy at the moment...

What, no builders bum? Many will be disappointed.

I remember when my Dad changed his house to plastic guttering years ago, that was fun. It leaked like a sieve too, but at least made pretty patterns down the window (the old rusty guttering, that is).
A new house report, and I nearly missed it!!!!!

At least you won't hear the builders over the noise of the littl'un. By the way, you've got a broken window *sucks air through teeth* that's gonna cost ya.
YAAY, it's dev-it-yourself report time again!
Atleast we can now see what's happening to our money

OK I did slope off for a quick Cornetto this afternoon, but I managed to stay out of the pub!

I'm glad you kept outta the pub, if the boys saw you order a pint with a cornetto in your hand I'm sure here'd have been trouble also very hard to get someone to hold an icecream while you have you pool shot.
