Realistic NASCAR 500
Distance: 268 Laps (500 Miles) + 2 Pace Laps
Car: XRR
Date: Sunday, August 21st, 2011
Location: Realistic NASCAR 500
Qualifying
Qualifying will take place on Sunday, August 21st starting at 15:00 GMT and drivers will be given an out lap and 2 timed laps in numerical order. Then they are given a cool down lap in which they are to return to pit road where they will be allowed to spectate. Run is final as soon as you cross the start/finish line to begin your 1st timed lap. This determines the starting grid for the Realistic NASCAR 500.
Driver’s Name
Driver name's will have to be changed to have your real name and your number like this for all sessions: 5 C.Corns
Attempting to Finish Under Green Flag
A red flag may be thrown in an attempt to allow the race to finish under green if it comes out late race. For a red flag all cars must stop in order behind the leader. The pace car will take place at the front of this order and a yellow will be thrown to end this period. The restart will occur at the next passing of the restart area and the pits will be closed until this restart.
Yellow Flag Information
Full course cautions will be thrown only when there is deemed to be a hazard to competition such as a car sideways on track for example. When yellow flag is thrown you are asked to slow down to at or below 100 MPH or (160 KPH) until you are able to catch the pace car, but please do not hit your brakes unless to avoid collision. The leader will wrap around and take place behind the pace car which will travel at around 80 MPH (about 130 KPH). You are asked to follow the person in front of you 2 seconds behind, and to follow beside them rather than directly in their tracks under yellow flag until the restart is imminent. Restarts will occur as quickly as possible. If a yellow flag is thrown after the white flag has flown the field will be frozen as it was at the time of the yellow, and as long as you are able to maintain a speed over that of pitlane speed (50 MPH) and cross the line your finishing position will not be taken from you. Overly aggressive driving will result in penalties assessed post race. Late in the race we expect more aggressive driving then normal, but there are certain things which we will not allow such as crashing somebody. We will likely use a "2 strikes and your out" systen for all sessions. If you would like to dispute a position under yellow pull along side of the position which you beleive you should have, and the admin staff will take care of it. We will take a screen shot of the running order at the moment the yellow came out and we will fix the running order based off of this and the pit-exit replay.
Lap Down Cars Under Yellow
Prior to restarts, cars that are 1 or more laps down will be allowed to take place in line inside of the lead lap cars as long as there are more than 10 laps remaining when the 1-to-go is given. If there are lap down cars remaining in front of the leader after yellow flag pit stops then they will be given the wave around the pace car to rejoin at the back of the field.
Restarts
Restarts are to occur between the restart lines about 40 meters and 80 meters behind the Start/Finish. All flags will be called by race control. If green flag is not called by race control then the restart will not occur. If the line-up has issues yellow flag will be called before the green flag was supposed to be. If a driver is involved in a crash they will not be given their previous position back, but rather they will be given the spot that they had when they returned to the running order. If you pit under yellow you will be placed in exiting order behind those who did not pit under that caution period. All restarts will be single file. Races will start with 1 or more pace laps which will count into the listed total of laps. The Pace Car’s lights will be turned off when crossing the finish line for the final time under that yellow flag period.
In Game Chat
Chatting will be disallowed during the race. Permission to speak must be asked for and granted during all sessions at all times during on-track action when the chat is announced to be closed unless a race administrator. This rule will be enforced strictly by the administration team. If prompted to use the in-game chat you may do so, but do NOT speak outside of what you are asked to.
Pitting Instructions
Under Green
When pitting under green you are committed to pit once you cross below the "commitment cone" just at the entry to Turn 3. You then must slow down enough in order to remain on the apron of the race track. Once you have crossed under this line you must enter pit lane. Even if a yellow flag would happen to come over the race track. On pit exit you are not allowed to return to the racing surface until the “blend line” which is on the exit of Turn 1. Green flag pitting guides will be in blue chalk on the track.
Under Yellow
Under yellow flag conditions the special yellow cone entry and exit lines come into effect. You may fake entry into pit-lane under yellow flag as long as you are on the right of the yellow commitment cones by the time that you pass them. If you hit them you will start at the tail end of the longest line, and if you cross over the white lines following them you will receive the same. If you fake entry into pit lane and in doing so fall below race speed you will be placed back in line where you returned. Once you pass below the yellow commitment cones just before the pit road wall you are committed to going through pit-lane. Under yellow flag only you may be asked to stop at the holding line in order to allow the pack to pass. Those who pit will start behind those who did not in almost ever circumstance. After you pass this line under yellow you are permitted to return to the racing surface and take place at the rear of the pack. Positions will be determined by running order when you pass the end of the speed limited zone. This yellow flag line will be outlined by the yellow chalk lines on the track.
Required Paint Schemes
Your skin must show your number on the side of your car and roof facing towards the inside of the track. No other requirements will be imposed this year.
Failure to Comply
Failure to follow these rules will result in in-race penalties which will be determined by the benefit that the rules infraction has given you. Failure to serve a penalty within 3 laps of it being issued will result in a worsened penalty, and failure to serve a 2nd penalty will result in disqualification.
Driver Requirements
In order to be eligible to participate in the Realistic NASCAR 500 you will be required to either upload an XRR hotlap to LFSworld under Benchmark, and have an LFS exeriance rating over that of 100, or have an experiance rating of over 400.
