Xbox and where i stand!
Hi, really ****** off right now with xbox. I've spent around the past 3hours on the phone with them and tbh it was a complete waste of time.

Ill start from the beginning, went to asda after work grabbed me forza 4 and headed home to find the disc didnt work, oh great! I hadnt played/updated the xbox in 2/3months? atleast that anyway! So i hopped on the ol' google to find that there was a new disk format that the new games are using and that some of the unlucky few with old consoles werent compatible with these new disks. I thought ok, ill give them a call im sure theres an easy fix to this as they have broke it not me. But no... After speaking to the supervisors supervisors supervisor and 3 colleagues before that they want to charge me £70 to "repair" my "faulty" console even though they have said "yes, its due to the new disks its our fault". I fail to see why im having to fork out £70 to play new games even though they have broke it, which i think everyone would agree on? Other people with this problem were contacted or told to get in contact for a free replacement and it seems that because ive taken a while to get in contact that there just trying to get some easy money from me.

So my question is, who do i contact now? Tomorrow ill be ringing watchdog thats for sure and ill be ringing xbox again to pester them more. Is there anyone else i should contact? or better still is there a way to contact someone at microsoft who is higher than the call centres?
just get rid of you're xbox and still with pc, Seriously, i only play gt5 as i love its japanese arcade appeal.... other then that, its just not worth it man.
I've been lucky with my xbox's since they've never broke or had any faults what so over
I have one of the very first old arcade models and bought a 120GB HDD for it and its still going strong. Plus now I have a 360 slim 4GB model with 2x16GB pen drives (because I refuse to pay their stupid f-ing prices for the new style hard drive even though the actual hard drive itself is the same, and using an old one in a new case may result in a console ban.. and to be honest 32GB + the 4GB in it is all I need to install a few games to them, some DLC content and some saves )

But yeah I myself believe they should give a free upgrade to any xbox owners that have this problem because its their fault it doesn't work!
Maybe even just to ones who still have a valid warranty on their console.. kinda like Logitech are doing with G25's that are broken and replaced with a G27 under warranty

Threaten to sell and buy a PS3
Works with phone companies when renewal time comes and their giving a shit deal just threaten to move to another provider and then they start offering sensible deals just to keep you as a customer

Already have a ps3 :P On the phone again to tell the i want a full refund on my 1yr of gold and a contact number for there legal team as ill be taking this to watchdog + consumer direct! See how that shakes them

Oh, and i cant exactly get rid of it... who'd buy an xbox that cant play new games? I wouldn't!

Assuming that your Xbox working fine just not with the new disc format.

Anyway look like ordinary swindle to me. long ago when my psx ceased to recognise joypad in first port and I bring it to the service week later after i bring my broken psx to the service, i get a call that i can go an take it back already fixed and only when i get there i listened to this fuing unbelievable story and explanation why i need to pay.
First they tried to prove this is may fault and exactly the fault of fake memory card (The one that come with psx supposedly it was fake and caused shortcut in the the port) and then convinced me that my laser is dying and it needs exchange because without it i would bring my psx back probably in few weeks (The laser was already exchanged without consultation with me).
Oh fuing retarded young me believed and not only I paid for something that probably should have been done for free (warranty) but also i exchanged my old laser which worked just fine for a something that died in few months.

And what can i say, I resent myself for being so stupidly naive
