Installer "can't write"
The installer gives an error: "can't write C:\Programs Files\LFS\LFS.exe"

I know, it's possible to install to "C:\LFS", but that's not really on - I don't want more clutter in the root of C.

I'm using Win 7 64 bit, and I'm the admin.

If you must install to C:/Program Files you can elevate the privilege of the LFS installer (by running it as an administrator). However, if you do this you'll need to run LFS as an administrator too (otherwise it won't be able to write files in C:/Program Files).
OK - thanks amp88

As mentioned, I am running as Administrator, so it ought to work. All other installers have worked fine.

Oh well, doing a temporary install in C:\LFS for now, just to see if the game runs.

Quote from DrJustice :As mentioned, I am running as Administrator, so it ought to work. All other installers have worked fine.

Running the installer from an admin account and running the installer as an admin are two separate things in Windows 7. If you just double click the installer it'll run without administrator privileges (thus it's unable to write to the protected location of C:/Program Files). If you want to run the installer as an administrator right click on it and select "Run as administrator". You also might want to read up on "UAC" in Windows Vista/7.
Right! Reinstalled in Program Files now

I suppose other (newer, I guess) installers handle things differently then. I might have been prompted to allow installation.

It'll be interesting to see how LFS S2 feels 6 years down the road

Thanks again, amp88!
