HP Pavilion g6-2301sm drivers problem
I know I should ask this on official HP forum, but it takes too long for them to answer on some questions, and I for some reason trust you guys more.

So, a friend of mine bought a HP Pavilion g6-2301sm and asked me to install Windows and drivers on it. As I've got a HP laptop myself I knew where to look but I still have some problems with GPUs and the webcam.

GPU problem - his laptop has the same GPU as mine (7670M if I'm not mistaken) so I downloaded the driver from here as it's the only one that worked for me. It didn't work. I got a message saying that CCC won't open because there aren't any setting in it that I could change and when I click "ok" I get another message saying that the driver is wrong or that I chose the wrong display adapter. (there's only one to choose from in Win resolution picker and as I said, I can't open CCC). The driver that I found on the official laptop's site don't support Win 7 at all, but I still tried to install them and as you probably guessed, they don't work.

I wanted to clean registry from drivers and then try to install the official driver again but I don't know will it take me anywhere... Any solutions?

Webcam problem - I installed YouCam that is on the laptop's site and it says that I don't have the appropriate (sp?) VGA hardware or that I didn't install the driver. (Do I need the GPU driver for the webcam to work?) I know I haven't installed any webcam drivers on my laptop, but I tried YouCam found on my laptop's site and it gives the same message.

Why have you installed YouCam? Thats just some added HP bloatware - it's not required to make the webcam work. Drivers are required to make it work - but Windows* should pick those up itself (to be fair, it should of done the same for your graphics card* but I don't think the Windows Update AMD drivers include CCC).

Try something like Amcap or Skype etc to see if the webcam is actually detected (oddly in Windows <8 you can't actually get the output from a webcam without any extra software).

*you haven't specified the Windows version your using but I'm guessing it's Windows 7, where Windows Update pretty much installs all software automatically.
I have installed YouCam because it's a relatively good webcam software and because Win 7 doesn't have its own webcam software.

Oh, and I asked for help on HP forum and some guy gave me a working GPU driver, which also fixed the webcam problem.
