Just a suggestion, when another player is online in a separate sever there should be a specific way to contact them. So if you're racing in server X, you can send a "private message" sorta thing to your friend in server Y.

Don't know the netcode of LFS, so this may not be possible, but would be a handy feature.
You can do that already. It's called AIM.

In all seriousness, there are already a hundred chat clients, voice clients, etc out there. No reason to reinvent the wheel.

LFSW should be capable of doing such a thing. We can write SMS from the game, so why not send them a plain message within LFS?

Thing with IM services, is I turn them all off whenever I play a game, and my buddy can't run it with LFS. His comp can barely handle LFS as it is

I'd just like a quick thing that I can just type in and say "Hey im in XXXXX server, c'mon in" or the like.

a buddy list would do that. you check your list in game and see who is where.
This is a good idea!! I would use it!
+1 for a buddy list inside LFS. I don't use LFSWorld because it take so freakin long to load on my connection. So, if I'm looking for someone in particular, I either have to use the "find user" button or click the "?" for every server in the connection list.
+1 for a buddy list.
Buddy list FTW (for the win)
