Question, I've seen some edits of people merging cars together to create something new. I know you cant use them in the game, but I'd like to experiment with it (can you insert your own model too (in the 3d modeler)? or just mix and match with the LFS ones?) Can anyone direct me to where the accesible 3d mesh files are and what program particular they use? (I used Zmodeler a while back.. so I know a bit how it works). In one shot it appeared they got it into LFS Viewer too... any info appreciated

you cant add cars to LFS or the viewer unless you like hack them apart and add a spot and physics for it..

I know not to LFS. But I've seen people in the edit threads like the RB4 GTR and that LX monster creation. They all used parts from LFS cars and just stretched and modified them. Where would I get the files to begin with? Are the files with the LFS Viewer unprotected? I'm just going for a visual here - not putting anything into LFS.

like the other day, we took down half of our generator house and made a tractor garage

the wall had 2 doors and a center section, so we took it all apart, swapped the hinges on one door, then splined the center section to that door, and now .. it looks like we did nothing

I think it's some photoshop work...you take screenshots of the two cars and you carefully erase, stretch the parts you like!

Someone did a Raceabout GTR. Also, there was a raceabout GTR, which was a gimped up photo of a Noble.

The latest RB4 GTR from The Grey Fox (Soper) was a photo-edit.

Look around and you should be able to find some .3ds versions of the cars. You can either import into 3D Studio Max, or Zmodeller. (A little note, though. If you import them into Zmod, you will need to scale them down to probably about 1% of the size to see them because the models are so huge.)
