I started by picking simple skins, something like this team rac livery, try looking up btcc or rally liveries on google images that's were I get most of my skin ideas from.
My first livery (if you consider that Photofiltre gradient skins are not appliable...), took some time to do it, but finally I had the inspiration of doing it...
Since it's a private skin (yeah, I posted it here so some players can download it and see it when I'm racing... or not), please do not use or edit it!
Had to upload on Imageshack because the files are too big, so... 1024 / 2048
Also, if you download it, please rename it for FBM_Halle_001
Well, yesterday I had a flash of inspiration and motivation to start a skin of LFS, a thing that I never did with a good program (when the XRT was available on Demo, I used to do some bad liveries on Photofiltre, and did like, only three or four, then I quitted skinning), and yesterday, when I got bored from failure on FBM, thought of doing skins again; but now on GIMP.
I wanted a new skin for me anyway, since I have started playing BATracer (some of you here know it, I guess, already seen known faces there, like Yuri Laszlo and Christian Zorner here) I started to do liveries for it. Is waaaay easier do a great livery on a 500x200 2D image, rather than a complex and compressed 2048² 3D image, so I never tried the skins after started doing liveries for BATracer. So then, I asked Kruithoff if he could do a private skin for me, and he did a great one (I still owe you one, dude!), but I had to try atleast once.
So, did a simply paintjob, and tried to avoid the connected parts, because I don't have the patience that you guys do (LOL³³³) and I'm still working on the logotypes and stuff...
If you guys wanna criticize it, and do some suggestions, I would love to hear...
Thanks!

Ahhh... I really wanted to take part this time but had no time. Just finished the skin for it Thursday night but had absolutely no chance to do the edit yesterday.
While I struggled at first it became clear to me I had to vote JO53PHS.
By the way I would love to see a system that'd let every user choose 0-10 points for every entry.
Instead I'll do this just in case anybody's interested:
Your angle of motion looks weird as if the car was flying sideways at 90°. Also I don't like the blurry dirt or what ever it is I can't identify that covers the whole picture.
Pretty good entry there but I neither like the amount of blur, the usual unrealistic looking rain or the default skin you used. Also it looks stupid with the head lights folded down. The overall composition though is really nice regarding colours and contrasts.
Most of all that's a weird lighting situation. Sky is too dark for day, too bright for a night and too blue for dawn/dusk. Most effects look unrealistic. I like how you tried to light up the rain drops in front of the lamps (which again I don't know why they don't include the standard head lights) but also that is done unrealistic. Also there are left some artefacts from copy&paste. Overall I thought you can to better edits.
Basically this is a pretty good entry, too. From what I see the car is cut out not too accurately but the major "fault" for me is that it isn't really focused that much on the motion of the car. The picture is very static.
Seems to be a pretty spotless edit apart from the colour of the glowing brake disc. Again though this is a picture that suffers from a quite static impression. The car takes a very big space on the picture so there's not much seen from the motion.
In contrast this again looks a bit too dynamic for my taste.^^ If it intended to show a camera going as fast as the car by its side it would be if things were less blurred the farther they are away. If it was intended to show a static camera following the car by turning than the upper and bottom parts of the picture should be blurred in some bent shape. Whether it is the dust looks too static.
This is made quite good although the lights seem a bit unreal. However the debate about "Use only your own work" has changed my opinion. This competition aims to let LFS look as realistic as possible, replacing parts of LFS to achieve that is invalid.
This is also very nicely done and I like to see my skin used by the way.^^ What spoilt it for me is that this skin/livery has not much to do with Audi, Group B or driving through puddles. Also see my comment on brandons48's entry.
Your picture is of high quality. Either way you replicated the snow thrown away very good or you covered very well that you took that snow from the original picture. Position of the car and the lighting used fit the surrounding good. Though see my comment on brandons48's entry.
The dust is not bad but everything else is. The blur chosen is neither very effective nor applied very good, the added lamps on the LX are blurred for appearantly no intended reason and most of all the WRC sign on your plate has not much to do with RWD roadsters or close races of at least three cars.
I have no idea what you did to the shape of the RB4 but it looks very strange. Also the combination of lighting up, then darken down the front again looks bad plus see my comment on brandons48's entry.
One of my few favorites this round. It followed the theme and has just a few minor mistakes (still a bit blur at the B- and C-pillar and at the front splitter, too little blur on the front tyre). It's quite simple but quite good too.^^
Another one of the few entries I favorized. The overall look is very artistic and though the background fits very nice please have a look at my comment on brandons48's entry. Also the motion blur would not have been my choice. It doesn't suit for neither a static camera turning around to follow the car nor for a camera moving parallel to the car.
In fact any graphic design seen from the side view is a more or less accurate copy of the Brawn GP livery. Even the colors scheme is the quite the same (white with black and a very bright colour).
I will eventually make it but I need bigger pictures. I can't guess all the little sponsors.
Edit: Pick one of the many different versions of this livery, please. One has a big "H&R" logo on the door, another one with "GIESSEN" at the same place, again there's another one with "SWR" standing there and so on.
Whether you take this or that one, make sure you post pictures here shot from as many different angles in the biggest possible resolutions.
It's the simple effect of having something built around a reason and not built around looking good. The livery is nice I think, the nose confuses me, but I still like it anyway, something about it is very sex.
I've been looking on and off during the close season to see if there was word of him driving in WTCC but didn't find anything, hadn't checked the sites this week so to when I looked at the BTCC site yesterday morning and saw the news I was happy
I hope Uniq do/can keep him driving for the whole championship.
Now to start work on a skin for the FXO to mimic the Uniq 'livery' - which is mainly sponsor logos, LOL
V8 Supercars Holden Racing Team 2010 livery replicas onto FXR. Was challenging this one with the FXR not having a front grill i had to alternate the livery a bit. I've also replicated their race suit (sorta). Enjoy
GT-R Spec V on the ring - pro physics, S2 tyres, ABS=1 etc, no aids
Although I don't think these physics are like Time Trail, somewhere inbetween Prologue and TT as this demo is an older build. S2 tyres are still pretty grippy though, sorta like semi-slick sport tyres
GT-R was probably one of the better sounding/replicated cars in Prologue. The one shown here seems to sound different to what I hear when I'm playing it in Prologue. This one is a Spec V though, but I don't think that would change the sound too much?
Also a tuned TVR Tuscan - might be a hint of livery editor there. Union jack flag, extensive mods - with left side outlet exhausts, rims, Goodyear tyres, brakes, wing, and body work
LOL and the funky rear brake lights...
Yes, yes. The Polizia has got a Lambo. But what we actually see on the road are lots of Alfa 156/159s, an incredible amount of Puntos and Stilos and that's it.
But actually those cars look quite sexy with the Polizia and Carabinieri livery
(At least, the Alfas. A Punto is still a Punto, after all).
