The new livery was previewed at the Mercedes Museum and I for one have mixed feelings about this livery.. since this is supposedly a Silver Arrow, shouldn't it have been a little more... silver??? Looks white to me. However, Germany's racing color back in the day used to be white but kinda changed to silver so I guess that's ok... maybe it's just the lighting. Excited nonetheless.
The good thing is, that JazzOn did spend a huge amount of time once (well, twice ), saving the general skinner a lot of time as often as he does a skin now (if he wants).
Also as you can see the top map and the side maps of the skin are streched unequally in proportion. It took me some time to understand how that is possible though. :jester:
However he has proven his work was done properly (at least the second time ) by skinning a livery of no other than loads of lots of diagonal squares onto a formula car.
Hi
Im going to have another go at replicating as my first one here(further down the page) had lots of problems as jazz pointed out.
So this is the livery im gonna try but some of the logos i cant make out. Ive attatched a two pics and those logos i cant make out are in yellow boxes.
I'd say actually that the fact the team owns the rights to the Car and livery, hence it's a "Williams FWwhatevercrap" rather than "Williams 2009 F1 car". LFS has the BMW.06 becuase BMW/Sauber Own the rights to the car and livery, thus they can give permission for whoever to use it.
Even though Codemasters has the licence to make F1 games, That's only the F1 brand and series, etcera.
Effectively, if a dev team went out and secured licencing for all the F1 teams cars, along with all the tracks, they could create a "F1 game".. so long as they didn't say "F1 CHALLENGE 1945!" (nor used any F1-esque graphics).. they'd need to call it something retarded like "FormulaCar racing" or have that stuff as content in a larger package.
This is a bike close looking to what i ride.
Same livery just not a carbon frame like that aluminum but still gets the job done.
Its like 2000-2001 model i think.
Okay I said this is next on my skin-I-planned-to-do-list and I started off with it now. I got the base colours and the metallic effect for the yellow/golden paint done.
Now of course the very hardest part will be those artworks on the hood and the sides. Therefor I am trying to contact the owner of the car or the guy who did the designs. The best possible outcome for this would be to get a vector/high resolution file of the original design. That however is not very likely to happen I know. The next best solution would be a high res photo of both the side and the hood shot from the most perpendicular angle possible.
If nobody is able to help me I'd still need help from a third person providing me with a high resoluted photo capture. I'd even draw it all myself but I can't seem to be able to find a picture of the complete design that is much wider than 600 pixels.
And of course if it turns out the owner or designer of the car is forbidding me to release a skin like that I would have to give up the whole idea. Actually I don't see why they should bother though but that could also apply to the part where I want them to help me so...
1.All car liveries must be uploaded to LFSWorld.net, and therefore must fulfill the LFSWorld.net terms of service for the skin upload service.
2.Cars entered by a team may be presented in substantially different liveries.
3.The livery must contain the car number on the nose and on the rear wing side plates. The driver's name and his national flag must be put onto both sides of the driver cell.
4.The official logo, as well as other required markings will be provided by the series' officials, and must be placed in the required position(s) or placement area(s).
5.If two or more cars of a team have substantially identical liveries, the rear wing endplates shall have different colors.
The official logo which has to be used is attatched.
I agree, it's not that hard. I'd love to do it too, even with that short run-off area
tbh i bet they made that short run-off area on purpose to make the excitement even higher
anyway superb show, thanks for sharing
btw. gotta love these American commentators, men have flown a car xD
