Because all suspension settings, brake force and gear ratios are already in public view at LFSW.

And on top of that, they use my setup (which they got from Phlos wr set collection) without permission. If they beat me fair and square, then I have no problem with it.

I wonder if they are STILL doing this and not just by Phlos.. Maybe there is tool to extract set from wr replay? Just makes me wonder when I see sets from other users whichs never been shared yet.. If there is way to do this, it's bigger cheat than just button clutch imo

EDIT: button clutch has been called "cheat" since the day it was found in early demo days.. It gives way too big speed difference against auto-clutch

Quote from deggis :Weather and day time change is over rated feature as long as it's only about graphics and "road surface grip -50%". And proper simulation of water on the road would need a supercomputer anyway. Pointless especially when currently approximately 2 servers are using these current cloudy/evening lightning settings.

-Best physics of any other sim
-LFSW
-You do the driving, nothing else
-Multiplayer's usability is best, not a single game come even close
-Part of community (hope this isn't fading away)
-Devs's support
-Really light software
-Easy to use
-Best setup modding, can feel the changes instantly and easy

There is more, but it's way too late/early to think

But let me put it this way, good games keeps me busy maybe a month max before bored.. while LFS has kept me busy for over 6 years!
And not even close to get boring yet, always something new to learn

@wtf im nameless

Just curious, can you post your pc's specs?

It's just, most likely your CPU is being bottleneck here. I got same fps with 3 screens when running E6600@3GHz and X1950XT with X1950 Pro, SoftTH+LFS that is. Haven't test with new setup..

Quote from Bawbag :And what's setupfield....GP1???? Sorry but that's just plain fanboi bollox, same with alland, what crap.

On about stealing ideas and stuff, what happend in WRC when paddle shifters started getting used, you didn't see those teams complaining when others followed and made them better?

Apart from the fact that there is other setupfields for differn't games which have been around for a long time aswell, it's so stupid that you guys could even think of calling it copying.

Even though I don't use either of the setup sites, from what i've saw of them i'd say the new setupgrid is better, the layouts and mostly I guess is the freshness of it.

I don't follow WRC so I don't really have any idea what you are talking about

But I just tried to point out that running such a contest like Setupgrid's 'most sets posted'-contest won't bring any quality sets at least.. For money people do whatever to get it (topic was about quality now wasn't it :razz

For different topic as copying stuff etc.. No comment as this thread isn't about that at all

Personally I use setupfield, just for the record

Setupgrid is bit like NFS, all about eye-candy but that's it.. especially when they run contest like "we give 100£ for person who posts most sets", you think this brings quality sets? I don't think so

Quote from Boris Lozac :Always wanted to express my frustration about this but never did..

Thing that started to put me off from LFS (among other things) is this freakin mouse domination. It's gettin redicolous that in almost all cars (if not all) you get pwned by mouse users!? I thought that real cars are driven with the steering wheel and pedals, but LFS doesn't think so..
It's stupid how precise you can drive with the mouse, and it's stupid how effortless it is. You basicaly move the mouse 2 cm to both sides and that's full lock for ya.. Gas and brake on the mouse seems to have no disadvantage when you do it with real pedals, ON THE CONTRARY, it seems it's better and faster, so what's the point in wheel and pedals, let's cancel them altogether.. Don't say how mouse users can't drive long stints because of the tires, cause they CAN, and besides, i mostly drive short races so that doesn't matters...
I don't know, it seems that anyone can get good with the mouse, just give them free time and perfect racing line display (yes, that new uber realistic option that replaced that arcade thing from hell, the Digital Speedo!)
It seems like Counter strike players can get super fast with the mouse, that's how i feel.. They can drive 24h races by themselves probably, since there's no physical fatigue involved..
Don't get me wrong, i'm perfectly aware that there are people with physical incapabilities and can't use their legs, i'm talking more about the steering, since it's redicolous how precise you can be with the mouse and how fast you can countersteer.
/rant over

This has been under discussion probably since day 1 when LFS started support wheel

Thing is, you can brake smoother, you can accelerate smoother. They just can't beat that. They can't do perfect left foot braking, it's always on/off for them..
Wheel+pedals is fastest controller combo out there no matter what

Reading bit more earlier posts..
Just for side info, I run QX9650@4GHz, highly overclocked 9800GX2, 2GB highly overclocked ram, 4 HDD's (one of them is RaptorX), dvd-drive, high-end watercooling, few case fans, three usb devices.

Max power consumption I have seen so far under heavy load is 460W. At stock this idles near 200W and under load bit over 320W.
Just info to let ppl know, you don't need those 1000W psu's until you go for extreme overclocking (liquid nitrogen etc). But when you choose PSU, leave cheap brands out..
They can seriously kill your system. For example you get 500W PSU for 5$, wow whatta deal!!! In real it might not even handle 400W and goes kaboom taking your whole system with it.
QUALITY matters like Jakg has said many times

Quote from Jakg :
Skulltrail Mobo = £300.
2x QX9775's = £600.
2x GTX280's = £400.

May I ask where you find those THAT cheap?

Here in Finland, Skulltrail mobo alone is 550 euros, 9775's over 1000 euros piece and 280's 550 euros.. That's around 3500 euros just for components you listed there.

Checking UK prices..
280 400-500£
9775 ~970£
Skulltrail mobo ~400£

So mobo 400£ + 2x cpu 1940£ + 2x 280 800-1000£ = that's 3140-3340 pounds!

Maybe you run some very own black market there?

Quote from Dizzydarryn :Hi guys,

I uploaded a hot lap last night, and got this email this morning...

" you have recently uploaded a hotlap at www.lfsworld.net, driven at SO6 with the XFG.

Unfortunately our additional hotlap checker did not validate your hotlap. As such, it has been removed from the LFS World hotlap charts.

The reason for the invalidity was: your hotlap did not pass the current HLVC check."

Not sure if anyone has received this before. As far as i remember, the lap was valid while i was driving it, and hence my ability to upload it...

Can anyone shed any light, so that the same thing doesnt happen again?

Thanks

Just so this topic isn't going for TOTALLY OFFTOPIC.. for the actual question, answer is.. In Y17 or Y18 (can't remember which one was it) scawen fixed soft wall issue what some hotlappers were using to get faster. Like braking with hitting walls. So now there's much more better HLVC-checking now + LFSW has checking also so it's like double checking that everything is fine Get latest test patch (Y22) from test patch forum and you will be fine + you get few new features also, check here

What comes to this OT whining... can't you guys make the 524542135th thread about slow development instead of hijacking any thread there is :P
It is slow and we have gone through this maybe 542543 times already, but whining more about it doesn't change a thing.. except making our community look even more retard what it's already is :leb:

Quote from XCNuse :Chances are very low you'll get bad pedals, my momo racing is from when those wheels were introduced and I've had not a single problem.

Like I said, I've had my momo racing for 4 years now, and I've had no issues of any kind with the steering column, nor the pedals.

And since they have the same pedals, i can assure you you probably won't have any issues.

Also lastly, if you're buying it from amazon or wherever, they wouldn't sell you an older version anyway, most surely those have been phased out by now.

You must be one of the luckiest dudes on the earth, 99.99999999% of those rev 1 pedals has gone broken within 1 day to 6 months

Quote from [UKR] Race King :yeah but if you have warranty why you should risk ?

That guide is for ppl who don't want to wait weeks for something which can be fixed in few minutes and knows what they are doing

Of course normal users goes with the warranty stuff if just possible
(FIN)Eza
S3 licensed
Dunno if this helps, but for few of you who wants to fix it by yourself and don't want to send it back.. This takes your warranty pretty much off then so be warned and do it by your own risk

I had same problem year ago, reverse just stopped working. So opened whole shifter and fixed mine. Has worked since then without problems

Then one guy saw these pics in my gallery and asked how did I fixed it so I made step-by-step guide and it helped that guy at least

But remember, your problems why it doesn't work can be different than that so test it like in pic3 shows before you destroy anything
