However, as soon as I turn of ANY type of AA and/or AF (tried all supported modes) my fps drops from around 50-60 to 15-25, so I'm not using it. Those ingame settings seem to work nicely here, though. Thanks again!

No idea, but ... have you tried a "Timer Boot-Zeit Prüfung" yet (found in Avast > Menu > Zeitsteuerung für Boot-Zeit Prüfung)...? It'll check your system before the OS is loaded.

Well, Foobar can be "tweaked" in many ways, but I guess you're talking about "skins", right? Some examples to be found here.
