hm, do u know what chipset u have? I have the ICH5, so some of the files required for propper USB is called ICH5USB.*. Seach on your system32 (c:\windows\system32 normaly) folder for these files to see if they are there or not.

never use an intel headsink buy one from Zalman - fits on every socket (there are some reasons it might not fit, but I've never seen a motherbord where this is the case). Look at their page, there is a short film showing how to mount it and in which cases it doesnt fix. Furthermore they make the best CPU Cooling u can find (me: P4 3GHz; intel originel cooler 80°C @3GHz while playing; Zahlman 120mm Cu: 55°C @3400MHz while playing^^)

Are u using windows XP? Then u may need the SP2 or just USB drivers (download ne chipset drivers and install them, when u have no SP2 there should occur an error like "File USB.xxx not found). On some mainbords theres a driver CD where u can them install from. In the menu wheres ur 2nd screenshot made, can u see "USB Universal Host Controller XXXX" where the XXXX stands for their interrupt (? or some kind of adress) I think. On the other side u should try to use the Logitech Software and look if the wheel is recognized there

@DEVIL 007: can't reproduce this... I read something on the Notes to the Forceware beta drivers for 8xxx series: with AA turned on, all objects must be rendered each frame or they will disappear - it says some software only renders some Objects new, when they change - so in pause mode the missing things aren't re-rendered and therefor missing maybe. I don't know which cards are effected by this or if its only with the beta drivers or with all, but try to reproduce it with AA turned off

also on autocross with the BF1 (surely on the other cars too, but havent tried yet) the speedlimiter can't be activatet (theres no speedlimit on the track, but the car still got the limiter, even if its "programed" to infinite?)

well to save registry I can just export it and the changes announced on the linked page I can do by my own, but I don't like to until I understand how it works but the WinKill program looks nice, but not exactly matches my thoughts. When pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del theres a button to quit a process, and the function of this button should be accessible on command line too, just don't know how

the explaination I don't understand - what is ment with "time in milliseconds before Windows XP allows an application to steal the focus" does this mean it takes 200 seconds until antivir can PopUp after starting LfS? In this case it won't help. The other thing is, the Value I should set in the first Link is the standard Value and so its already set. But maybe theres another solution: does someone knows a command to quit a process from a batch file? So I can automate quitting AntiVir, Starting LfS and restarting antivir with a simple .bat It doesn't matter to me if I'm clicking on Shortcut or a .bat (hope my Logitech Profiler would still recognize LfS is startet)

no theres no option to schedule it. And turning it off I don't like, because I'm pretty sure I'll often forget to turn it back on

Is it possible to include an option, which when is enabled makes it impossible for other processes to PopUp. In my case its the AntiVir auto-update - when it starts in the middle of a race I get tabbed out of the game and in most cases I crash or at least loose positions if I can't tab back fast enough (and sometimes I destroy others race, when such things happen in T1)

Hi,
I've got some problems with my new Wheel: if I chose to seperate axis for braking and throttle both don't work. So I'd like to ask if somebody knows about this - is it because the pedals aren't able to do this or is it just a software issue (everything else works fine, when its on the same axis throttle and brake are added if pressed at same time, so when lowering both to the max no braking or accelerating is applied (what should be normal?))

I've had this 0 point bug today for several times (finished 2 x 3rd on BL GP with 1:34.30/.80 or so, ~15secs behind the leader, 12laps)

automating this seems impossible I think. What could be done for real rude wreckers is to kick people driving in a corner with maybe 120% of speed the WR holder does (meassured at some point before the apex) - so people who just want to wreck others could be detected. Don't know what happens when someone gets hit before the messure point - looses control and slides into the line where the speed is taken - maybe those would also look like wrecker?

I think ur suggestions can be bad for PC noobs messing with the graphic settings in LfS and then disliking (?does this word exists?) the game for its bad graphics

I think the angle of the mirror is well adjustet and its that way your own car doesn't appear on it?

When the race ends in cause of next track should start, the number of rounds to be driven should be set to the round the leader is in - so everyone can end the race in normal way (I post this becouse we where driving 230 laps and after 1 and a half hour and over 100 laps the race ended by "race ends in 3..2..1" - so this race dosn't appear at lfsworld, no replay saving, ...)

I've got an freeze with Patch W. Sound looped and game hang for 5 secs, after pressing several times Ctrl + Alt + Del the taskmanager finally poped up, Alt + Tab was not working. The moment when Ctrl + Alt + Del worked I heard the sound off "connection lost", I tabed back into game and it was unfreezed and the connection to the server was lost

I've got no freezes anymore (untill now)
There was just 1 short time less then a tenth of a second, which was like one of those freezes, I think it was a lag or so (?)

@geezer45: which OS do you use? I've never had a bluescreen on XP, not in LfS and not in another game/ application

I'm having freezes that occur not very often and last only 1-2 seconds.
While the game is frozen the car still drives (in single player too) but theres no reaction to controler inputs (I think). Sometimes the sound loops, sometimes theres no sound. First recognized with some V-Test-Patch (don't know which becouse I played only some minutes on the patches before V5)

1) P4 3GHz @ 3.4GHz (temperatures are quite good -> under 60°C, with original boxed cooler it where 80°C without overclocking and System was stable)
2) GF6800GT
3) chipset I always have the newest installed (I have 865PE and ICH4)
Forceware is version 96.89 (inofficial)
OS is XP Pro

I also notice such freezes, but not often and only for 1-2 seconds. The "physics" seem to go their normal way, so when it unfreezes the car has driven without driver I'm not sure, but it seems as even with full throttle applied on controler, the game not notices it
I've put VSinc on via Forceware (+tripple buffer +4xAA + 16xFA + SS + no negative LOD Bias)

VSync may lowers FPS, but as mentioned it makes the GPU less to do, becouse frames that must be skipped after half calculation without VSync are never started to be calculatet...

EDIT: btw text on transparent surfaces are flickering with transparent-AA (only Supersampling) turned on (I know LFS is not desinged for yet, but maybe its easy to something there)
