I know LFS feels like its dead, but i know there is a huge series of packages going to be released, IMO, another track or two + another car or two before the final release of S2. Then S3 will start to have ranges of cars.

We all know in the end, there will be Le Mans cars, more GT cars, at least 1 rally car, at least an oval car and a few others. The devs have tested cars and have said they have, including karts.

Thats what i think, keep tight, stay steady. I'm not making no judgments or car suggestions until S2 final is released.

F1 ride.

I get alot more enjoyment, satisfaction, happyness from a passion or feeling, especially getting the chance to feel what its like in an F1 car, rather than a material, or money if i was to sell the wheel.

The ride, il never forget. It will stay in me til i die and it will be something i can always look back on, share the story, explain the feelings, remember the excitement etc.

The wheel il forget eventually. It will be displayed somewhere in the house with no true meaning where i will look at it not too often. Id eventually sell it for alot of money and in the end, i wont remember the money and the money will never stay with me when im dead.

Even though money is always something big in life, to enjoy, to live, to raise a family etc, but in the end...

...Memories are greater then money.

I feel his words are Mclarens words. Im not stupid, i know teams do tend to tell the driver what to say in an interview, buts its almost asif he has never said what he likes, its all fake to keep the media going. I guess thats ok, but hes not doing to well IMO.

I tested the frame rate before and after Y21 in South City in the BMW F1 car and before hand i had to take off alot of graphics or low to get it running at 30fps. After i downloaded Y21 i felt no improvement, FPS stayed at 30fps. I put all the graphic settings full or best, and it stayed at 30fps.

So, i dont know how it works, but its ok, but VERY confusing!

Quote from JamesF1 :Well they DQ'd Montoya a few years back for running it.

Yep, i was going to add that example in there. Montoya had a similar problem, but more to do with his team. In the end, he was driving and he made the mistake IN THE CAR, not the team.

Just like Lewis. He has to cop it on the chin and admit it, or he never will.

I agree with the penalty. I know there has been ridiculous incidents before, but i think the FIA is trying to make an example out of Lewis by making sure the drives look at the lights from now on as it can cause problems.

Does anyone have a link to a video of the Lewis - Kimi pitlane crash? And Massas pass(es)?

I missed out on the race and would really like to see them, youtube took them down due to F1 management.

I got my friend into trying out LFS. Turns out he laps faster in the xfg and xrg then me already lol! His parents wont go via credit card on the net, so he has given me the money to buy it with my mums credit card.

I just want to know whats the best option to go with as i wont be using the account, it will be my mates.

Should i buy an account, give him the account details and let him have that? OR do i get a voucher and how does he get the game with the voucher. Simply, i just want the most simplistic way for him to get started and play s2.

Thanks.

Quote from Intrepid :Sorry that ISN'T actual FACT. The FIA classified Hamilton 2nd and Alonso 3rd due to the fact Hamilton had a better number of 4th places or something.

If Hamilton was on top of the table in the same points situation he would be classified WDC...

Just like football where you have goal difference being the deciding factor if points are equal.

the ACTUAL FACT is HAMILTON PLACED HIGHER THAN ALONSO IN THE TABLE.... it isn't

1. Kimi
2. Lewis
- ALonso
4 Massa

it's

1. Kimi
2. Lewis
3. Alonso
4 Massa

http://www.formula1.com/results/driver/2007/

not being a lewis fanboyijust clarifying the stone COLD FACT set in the RULES BY THE FIA!

Prove to me the seperation between Lews and Alonso. What makes them 2nd and 3rd but not equal 2nd? FIA Rule? What is? Lewis should be ahead on equal points due to we love him so? More better finishes? more what? Im not saying you cant prove or anything like that, so dont get me wrong, im saying prove me to shut me up. Prove me and ill say well done.

Intrepid, your still not listening to me, all im simply saying, Lewis did not beat Alonso. I dont give if he finished 2nd. The points are equal so that means They are both equal 2nd, meaning neither beat the other.

Im not having a go at Lewis. Im having a go at someone who cant look through Lewis with the correct facts.

Quote from dougie-lampkin :That NZ license system sounds more like LTC's license system

Here it's very simple. You do a theory test, which is just questions about road signs and stuff. Then you can go into the licensing centre, and get a provisional (called learners permit from this month on, actually). You have to have someone with a full license with you at all times if you're on a provisional car license. You can apply for a test as soon as you like. But there's a waiting list of about 6 months. Once you take the test, which is just a drive around town, if you pass, you're fully licensed.

However, the law is changing this month, and you now have a "restricted" license for your first year, regardless of provisional/full license. It basically mean that for your first year, you have to have someone over 21 who has a full license with you at all times, for a car license only. It's also planned to bring in the full NI restricted license system, which sucks the fun out of driving altogether

If you were talking about my post with the licence system, its Australian, not New Zealand. If not, stupiod me!

Quote from Intrepid :Contractually difficult I would imagine.

I think competing well in a lower team against some pay as you go driver wouldn't really prove much.

Going up against the current WDC carries far more pressure in my opinion than not expecting much in a Spyker or whatever.

I may be wrong here, but is Hamilton not the only driver in history to join a team in his rookie year and then go on to beat a current WDC in the SAME car?

There are only 20 cars on the grid. You would have to be some fool to turn down a place in one of the best cars.

Yes you are wrong, as corrected in the post above. And if you want to go facts, Alonso had 10 finishes ahead of Lewis, meaning Lewis could have only had 7 finishes ahead of Alonso. That means that Alonso had beaten Lewis in a race more times in 2007.

So if anything, its possible to say that Alonso beat Lewis in 2007.

Get your facts right.

Whats the licence system around the countries? Some places sound different then Australia.

Here we start off with:

Learner Licence (L's) which you can get at the age of 16 and need for atleast 12months. Must have a full licence front seat passenger to teach you, illegal to drive without one. Have to fill out a log book that needs times, dates, number plates, licence numbers, odometer readings, how many hours done. When i got my L's, only needed to do 50hours. Now its 120 hours with 20 hours have to be night time.
Provisional Licence (RED) (Red P's) which you can drive alone and can get minimum age of 17. After 11pm til 5am, can only have 1 passenger under the age of 21. Need for i think also 12 months or i think 18 if you have had any offence.
Provisional Licence (GREEN) (Green P's) which is the next licence up. Same as Red P's but you can have any amount of passengers that the car can fit. Need for 18 or 24months roughly.
Full Licence (BLACK) (Blacks) which is a full licence that you get after your Green P's. On them for afew years. Licence doesnt expire.
Full Licence (GOLD) (Golds) which is the same as blacks but just 1 up.

Your Learner and Provision licences all expire roughly 6months after you can upgrade, each has a test ofcourse, but your only DRIVING test is going from Learners to Red P's. After that, its all computer tests.

Im on my red P's now and can go for Green P's roughly January next year. My licence is currently suspended!

Quote from Intrepid :Tristan you know as well as I do that luck is a very dirty word in motorsport. It's number 1 on the list of race driver excuses.

I guess it was lucky that a 10 year old Hamilton made DAMN sure that he would secure a solid car for when he reached F1 by approaching Dennis. I guess he was lucky that he stringed multiple championships together so he could secure that drive. I guess he is lucky that he has earnt the support of all his team who make sure his care can survive a rub with the wall. He PUT himself in a situation to have a car/team good enough to win races like Monaco... he did THAT... NOT LUCK...

Kimi got his fair share of 'luck' in the Australian race but what didn't he do that Hamilton did - bring it home in 1st (which Kimi was on for in Australia until he binned it)!

and here is God himself Senna riding his luck in Monaco 1984 as previously posted. 'Lucky' he didn' ruin his car -

Luck is such an empty word used by people who don't have the knowledge to explain or understand a situation

However i do agree that Hamilton can't out perform his car much longer. the Ferrari is just TOO good

Quote from Intrepid :Nope, I have the same stance with Kimi last year when he won the title. That could easily be looked at as 'luck' but anyone with half a brain knows the term is meaningless tosh.

Well he could have easily aligned himself with RedBull and the mechanics are not even allowed to breath near the suspension

When you look at the bigger picture. the actual process from Hamilton being a 10 year old kid, and then ending up on the top of the Monaco podium you see very LITTLE luck percentage wise is involved. The over riding factor in that process was a 10 year old Hamilton going up to Dennis and that accounts for 99% of the victory in Monaco.

As I said - luck is a word used by people who either do not want, or just plain don't have an understanding of a given situation.

Intrepid, to me, there is no such thing as good luck and bad luck in life. Everything happens as it happens. No, Hamilton in my eyes has had no luck. Monaco he happened to play the right move at the right time and it worked, he won, no ifs.. no buts he won. Not Kubica, not Massa and not Kimi.

Just keep in mind, McLaren put Lewis in a situation to win Monaco, not Lewis. McLaren put Lewis in a situation and opportunity to drive in Formula 1, not Lewis. And McLaren put Lewis in a situation, to be taken care of and have support in his career since a little kid, not Lewis. Anyone can walk up to Ron Dennis as a little kid and say that he/she wants to race for him, but it was Ron, not Lewis that put him in every situation in his career. Thats my opinion (stated its an opinion so i don't get flamed if my post has incorrect facts).

Really nice work C40Z! But the intakes infront of the rear wheels are fake and kill it completely.

Quote from beefyman666 :I've started making yet another stupid creation using LFS parts. This time a kind of UFR hillclimber.

I think you should make the rear wing have less angle with the blade, more body work on the side and a more flatter front wing connected by rods. Maybe more base it around this:

Really nice work mate!

Quote from Jakg :...except I need to do lessons first. Which I can only start doing when i'm 17.

Also, theres the small manner of raising the cash to pay for the damn thing - luckily my Dad (in a rare moment of generosity) is willing to pay for "part of" the Insurance or Driving Lessons, but the cost of the car is up to me - and atm I have very very little cash - hopefully I can get out buying the new phone I just got, and i've got to work out the best way to sell my (now totally fooked) bike. Also got to see if I can bare to sell my PC to get a better car...

</Ramble>

What you need lessons for mate? You got LFS .

I had a license. It's currently suspended for speeding 10kph over. I get them back next month. 3 month suspension all together! I am getting my own car when i get my license back, alot to choose from, cant decide between car or ute. (i need a tray for a kart and id perfer a tray connected rather then a trailer )
