I don't know what server you are planning to use for the practice event. Just in case you wanted to use the LOTF server, I uploaded and loaded the KY1 layout.
I didn't check the LFSWorldSDK, but you may want to check if the get_pb function does a urlencode on the racer value. Since Lord of Death contains spaces you need to urlencode it.
Is Vsynch on or off in your Graphics (I think this is where it is) options menu? I scratched my head over this too after I got my WS 22", but after turning off Vsynch I jumped to like 75 at the back of a full grid.
But like Jakg said if it is over the monitor refresh rate it doesn't that big of a difference.
I have been waiting for the relay to be resurrected. I was going to test if the insim gateway which converts insim v4 to v3 could jump start the use of spectator until an insim v4 version could be created.
sdether's lib could go a long way in part 2, but at least if there was a relay service and the gateway worked as designed people could use the old spectator.
I'd urge both of you to take a look at The League of Americas. They present several series throughout the year. Racers of all experience levels are welcome. If there are enough racers registered for a series racers racers are split onto multiple servers based on their PB for the car track combo.
The next series, a GTR series, is set to start Aug 23. Please visit the website review the rules and discussion threads. Still being discussed is a weight handicap system based on overall championship points position. This is being modelled after the WTCC.
I believe that Spectator and RaceWatcher rely on the LFS relay service. Currently the relay is not functioning. Victor is working to get it back in shape after the insim shakeup.
No change of heart. No DNF should be placed ahead of someone who crosses the finishline, not matter how many laps have been completed. You run of of fuel on the last lap you can't cross the finish line. That is unless the push car comes out or another car pushes you across the line. If you are racing for the win in the closing laps but push too hard and crash, pucture a tire, or run out of fuel you deal with the consequences. Getting across the finish line is what matters.
DNFs should be placed after everyone who crosses the finishline based on race elapsed time at the time of their catostrophic failure.
I hope I clarified by position.
Rules - nobody likes them, but you gotta have 'em.
I am sorry but I have to disagree with the 90% rule. Any team that does not cross the finish line should not be allowed to place higher than someone who did.
This is a time based race, not a lap based race. If your not in the race the full 4 hours you should not be allowed to finish ahead of someone who completes the full 4 hours.
I gotta agree with NIKI here, you flip your can and up on on your lid your done for the day. So are you saying that I should be able to reset after running out of fuel too? Theoretically, the push car should come out and push the car out of fuel the pits and he can continue after refueling.
DNFs should be placed based on the number of laps (or elapsed time) completed period.
Houston we may have a problem. To load the layout we need to get them onto the server. I don't have the ftp access information, and I don't think Stu does either.
I'll try to contact Marsh for the info. I'll update here when and if I hear something.
You are only allowed one online connection per license. You can install and unlock LFS on as many machines as you want. But only one can be used online at a time.
The master server will kick back a message like username already in use or something like that.
Is the server going to be up for awhile? I'd like to see how far ahead the competition would have been. Maybe I'll register for the series. Everyone needs a backmarker.
