Tried those options, took it to a mate to have a look, turns out the motherboard was fried. Funny side of it was, since my Dad bought it Christmas 2004, hes never opened it to clean it out, so just imagine how much dust was in there over the years.
Had to hoover it out before he could have a proper look lol.
Hi there, I was woken up bout half an hour ago by my family, because they had run into a problem which I assumed was minor.
My mother pressed the sleep button by accident at one point, and the monitor refuses to switch back on. They tried to reboot, but nothing was happening, hence waking me up early. I had a look, tried rebooting myself, checked the connections at the back, everything looked fine, no changes whatsoever, the monitor would declare that there is "no signal" and switches itself off while the PC is still on.
Is there a way around it at all? I tried rebooting, I would still get the same problem on their PC. Their operating system is XP.
The situation is being sorted lads, thanks for the help and advice .
I'll keep you updated, I've been told that we are gonna see each other face to face, with a tutor as witness, and basically discuss the issues and then shake hands.
Had to start again the other day. Really do love this game. Has anyone noticed that patch 1.5 has changed the flow of ping?
For example. On patch 1.4, 110 ping, you see the enemy but you have to slighty shoot further than before *sniping on scope would be a good example* because your ping is slightly high and you had to slightly guess his position ahead because the opponent you are aiming has already been there.
But on patch 1.5 also on 110 ping, you see the enemy, but when you shoot him without having to shoot slightly ahead of him. It registers, and takes a slight second longer from the 60 pings or lower, for process to register on both yourself and the dude you killed.
It went off topic ever since someone said "Murder him" :P.
Anyways, thanks for the great advice all, I just wanted to be sure before I decided to take action.
What I am going to do, is get the evidence first, and then consult my tutor about it.
My car is safe in a neighbourhood where I live, and I don't think he knows where I live. Besides, even if he does have the guts and complete stupidty to slash my tyres, I can always get 4 new tyres for 40 quid, and they are very reliable. And also I would have already the evidence gathered on him if the police get involved.
The ideas you guys shared have been a good laugh . The antibotics, the stalking, loads to choose from, shame we can't do them in reality terms .
Better clear myself just incase. I've ignored the idiot countless times, because he was simply a waste of space. And thats pretty much what I have been doing over the past few months.
But when I have heard about the damaging my car threats, even though we all know in general hes a coward to do so *the dipstick asked my friends if they want to slice my tyres lol*
I just simply want to send him a message, that he's practically picked the wrong guy to try and mess with. And I intend to do that by reporting him in college for the threats. And hopefully that would knock some common sense into him, in realising what a twit hes been.
Which is why I was thinking of reporting the threat to the police, with evidence provided, the police would record the evidence, and if my car has happened to be damaged as described, job done in a sense.
Anyways, I'm not making a big deal out of it, just wanted some advice before I take any action, just to ensure I am going the right way with it. I don't tolerate with violence. I study martial arts, and I have a code to follow so to speak. So I use common sense, and try to deal things politically than use my fists and legs. I only use them for self defence if I have to.
I'm build like a brick shit house. He just looks like a twinky .
Well thats exactly what my Dad said. I spoke to my Police mate about it, he said not to worry about it, but he did say "does the college know?" So I'll speak to my tutor about it tomorrow morning. He did say not to worry about it, and I know that my car is parked in a public place where it is usually busy. And is very rarely raided at night. (once every decade?)
The quotes in bold are the ones that I have already done, or intend to do .
Well I haven't really reacted similarly at all to his actions, I just been ignoring him since. Its come to the point that now I want to do something about it because hes targeted me. I'll give you guys an update later on tonight, because I'll be speaking to a few friends of mine who work with the police about it.
English expression for something else . Basically he got "owned" verbally in front of the public, and swearing and insults weren't even in the part of the discussion .
You read me wrong mate, like I said to android, it was an English expression. I study Karate, and pretty much only use it if I had to defend myself, and so far, haven't had to use it yet, and I like to keep it that way.
I have been mature about it, he got 2 huge kick in the balls when myself, and a friend on seperate occasions put him down because of his attitude, and he felt completely humiliated because they were both in public enclosures. We weren't going to do it during class, because we were studying for our exams. I did my kick in the balls with him during class while we were waiting for the tutor arrived.
He just didn't like the facts that were based against him, and instead of sucking it up and learn from it, he acted like a sore loser, and decided to act hard to try and regain whatever he has of his pride and dignity.

Normally when it comes to bullying (which it is) I'd suggest a counter-offensive. Most bullies in my experience only pick on people who don't fight back and a quick smack round the head makes them think twice, even if you don't actually 'win' the fight.
But in this case it's a bit harder, because you need to park your car somewhere and it'd be vulnerable.

Exactly. The only problem is, I can fight back, both political and physically. Which did make me wonder why try to bully me? Makes me think he is trying to act hard for attention.
Hello LFS fellows. I come in seeking for advice. It's about a certain someone that I know that has been trying to be abusive to my friends, and just recently found out that he is threatining me behind my back.
I'll give you a brief on whats happened, that got him to this situation.
During the first semester in college, he was claiming to be a smart alec, trying to prove that he was a ladies man when he wasn't, and also couldn't take the retaliation digs when thrown back at him when he threw them at us college buddies.
Eventually it all came to a point where we all hated him, and he shifted his arse to another course as a January starter, because he didn't like the facts that we have said about him infront of his face *which were indeed true* He was a bully, selfish, pervert, and a waste of time in class, talking to others as we were trying to study for this years exam, basically being disruptive.
For us we thought we had peace and quiet, but it turns out that he wasn't going to let this go. He threated my mate, by simply saying he was going to "batter him" last week, only to not show up.
And now, he has threated me at someone who would pass the message on to me, that he was going to scratch my car, and slash my tyres. I'm going to assume for now, that he is going to try and damage my car. And its come to the point that I've decided to take some drastic action, which would give him a message of simply saying "Don't **** with me"
My friend has evidence on her msn via message history, where he explains to her that he is going to damage my car, so now that I'm in the storyline, I want to do something about it. She'll be printing the information off and passing it on to me.
There is a club that I go to on a weekly basis, and some of my friends happen to be police officers. And I'm going to be asking for their advice in what to do about the situation.
Is there anything else that I can do to sort this situation out without involving violence? I thought of going up to speak to him about it in a firm manner, but I'm having second thoughts, as I would rather have this matter done discreetly than in public.
The only upper hand, is that I know where he lives, but he doesn't know where I live, and that I have a bit of ammo on his actions, his behaviour, discrimative acts etc.
^^ Next thing he is going to do is brag how much he has overclocked something online.... *puts earmuffs on* I know I'm deaf, I'm just taking extreme precautions.
Hi lads, in a slight complication, but I am sure it can be easily dealt with.
Me and a friend installed a SATA hard drive (500gb) for my PC, and I decided to have it reformatted, and start from scratch. *got my stuff backed up on my Dad's PC, so not all is lost*
Then we ran into a slight problem.
The disk to install the motherboard drivers is missing, so I can only assume that I misplaced it somewhere.
I had a look online at ASUS.com to see what drivers I need for my motherboard, and as it turns out, I'm not too sure exactly on what I need.
Can anyone assist, on what drivers I need to get the internet connection running on my PC from the router, the motherboard itself to get it working for accessibility, and the driver to install sound please?
I'm sure what I am looking for, but I'm not sure which one is it that I actually need since there are so many to choose from respectively.
McLaren have announced a five-year extension to their contract with star driver Lewis Hamilton. The new agreement, which starts for 2008, will run up to and including the 2012 season.
The announcement takes the length of McLaren’s relationship with Hamilton to a total of 15 years, believed to be among the longest running associations between a sportsman and a team in motorsport history.
"It’s fantastic for me that Vodafone McLaren Mercedes has extended my contract until 2012,” said Hamilton, runner-up in the 2007 drivers’ championship. “Whilst last year was my first year with the team in Formula One, I have been connected to McLaren and Mercedes-Benz since 1998 and feel that I could easily drive for this team for the whole of my Formula One career.”
Hamilton narrowly missed out on last year’s title after an amazing rookie season, which saw him take four Grand Prix victories. And while his new deal is almost certain to make him one of Formula One racing’s best paid drivers, the 23-year-old Briton insisted he is firmly focused on more success in the seasons ahead.
“I am with the right team to compete for race wins and both the drivers’ and constructors’ world championships in the future,” he added. “We will have a lot of challenges ahead, but I am 100 percent positive I am with the people to take them on.”
Announcing Hamilton’s new contract, McLaren team principal Ron Dennis said his driver had more than earned a pay rise: “Given Lewis’s performances over the course of the 2007 season, it is clear that improved financial terms were fully deserved and this formed part of the friendly negotiations with Lewis’s manager Anthony Hamilton.”
Following the departure of Fernando Alonso at the end of last season, Hamilton will race alongside former Renault racer Heikki Kovalainen in 2008. Both team and driver are confident it will prove to be a fruitful partnership.
“I am enjoying working closely with Heikki, Pedro (de la Rosa), Gary (Paffett) and the team as we push hard with the development of the MP4-23,” said Hamilton. “We have 57 days to go until the lights go out on the grid at Albert Park and we are motivated to make the most of this time and arrive in Melbourne with a competitive car."
McLaren’s Formula One CEO Martin Whitmarsh added: “Since Heikki joined the team in December, it has become more apparent how well he and Lewis will work together to become a competitive force for the team. We feel confident we have the prospect of another exciting season ahead."
I'd say defensive driving. For me, blocking is when someone is deliberately weaving left and right on the track when you are trying to make a pass. Defending, is when you stick to your defending line, (staying on the inside line of a corner instead of your usual racing line would be an example) defending your position, making it difficult for the driver behind you to get past.
