Quote from mosquito25 :IMO, it's a NAT (router) problem

Does your server use DHCP? In this case, maybe its ip address has changed, but the router still forwards to the old ip.

Check this first

Edit : IMO, you'd better post in "Technical assistance forum"

Yes its DHCP, Ip is the same. I thought of that and checked before but does not seem to be the problem.

Im also thinking its a Router setting. Something simple I have forgotton. If it helps any im using a Linksys 4port Router & DSL 3mb/800k so plenty of upload speed.

Keep up the good works boys, you'll get a contract with EA eventually.

ya that sounds great...so that EA can run it into the ground like they did with NFS Editions.

Not good, dont go with EA go with a better company that actaully takes time to do their games and make's sure its done right. If EA gets a hold of it we are going ot be driving around with no brakes......"Pffftt you dont need brakes we will include it in out next patch....next year"

Hosting A Server

For some reason this is what happens now. I will host a server people will try to join but it always says "Guest Timed Out" I will once in a while get the odd person that can join but if they get in nobody else will be able to join my server.

I do have a Router but Have the ports open for the game. Same setup as before (months ago) but for some reason does not work now maybe because its a diff version of LFS? I have all software Firewalls off.

This is for S2 by the way hosting a Non-Dedicated server. Im using Version 0.5Q

Thanks

Quote from Cropsy :Well, that didn't work. I'm having problems with LFS too. Alot of objects disapear and parts of the track, also it becomes very laggy, the FPS drops very low. Any ideas what is wrong with it?

Try with a different video card. Also try reinstalling LFS see if it helps.

Quote from Cropsy :OFP crashed again last night, I thought I sorted it by downloading the latest directx last night, but it has just crashed again, but this time with a new message:

CreateIndexBuffer failed 8876086a - out of memory?

I guess I'll pick up a new card tomorrow...

If you end up picking up a new card get something decent that way it will last longer and you wont have to upgrade as soon. I would reccomend nothing lower then a GF 6600GT they dont go for much now a days the price has dropped. If you really want to treat yourself grab a GF 6800GT or even a GF 7800GT of course the higher it goes the more money it is & my guess is you dont want to pay the price tag for the 7800GT its pretty high right now.

So if you can grab a 6600GT or 6800GT or something in the range. Just remember if you pick up a card for $100 or less you get what you paid for. So spend a little extra $$ and get something good

Keep us updated,

Quote from WIGGA :Yes I now iam a Computer Freak!

The Be Quiet! is one of the best Powersupplys and It is so loudless that you can only hear it when your ear is 1cm behind the Powersupply!

The Case have in front of 1 120mm 1 behind and in the left side 2 80mmillepall
All are with Blue LEDs from Revoltec
And its with a Windowkit

Never heard of that case or powersupply but thats because you live in another part of the world but if you have the choice make sure to get a case that has 120mm Fans they move more air (keeping your comp cooler) and make less noise then regular 80mm Fans.

Good luck,

Ciao

I have seen and been in servers where there are jumps etc in different areas of the track. I was wondering how I can do that and make my own track like that or at least host a server with tracks like that.

If anybody can help with that, it would be great.

Thanks for your help

Quote from whisperinghill :When I play in single player, depending upon the number of cars and sometimes the complexty of the car, I'll have terrible lag when i am near them. Like if playing the 250GTR cars until I seperate myself from them, I lag. Or if I play with 10 AI of the smaller cars I lag, put when near any one or two I don't lag.

What can i do for settings?

I have a 18. P4 DFI motherboard with hyperthreading with 756mb of PC800 Ram with a measly NVIDIA 64mb TI card. Yes I know this is an issue, but I have played many games and opnly have minimal graphic iussues. This is pretty bad.

What can i do for settings?

Thanks

Your problem is your Video Card, if you want the lag to stop you need to buy a new video card. I suggest something like the 6600GT video card or better if you can afford it.

There you go thats ur answer and solution
